<-- recalls DH never pokes a hole into the egg and he doesn't seem to have troubles. He puts the eggs in a pot, covers them with cold water, puts the pot on the stove and gets the water to boiling. Turn off the stove as soon as the water boils, but LEAVE pot on the stove, covered, for 20 minutes. As soon as the 20 minutes are up, take the eggs out and rinse under COLD water for 2-3 minutes to make them stop cooking inside. (This should let your eggs warm up slowly and avoid breaking.) HTH!
