Hi Anne!

I know exactly how you feel. After my surgery (a cervical fusion) I had to wear a hard collar for 3 months and wasn't allowed to drive or lift anything heavier than 2 or 3 lbs for a looooong time, something like 3 months. It drove my out of my mind. I watched a lot of movies and read books. My best friend would pick me up several days a week and take me to lunch or the mall for a change of scenery. Hopefully, you'll be back in action in no time.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow - what a ride!’ — Peter Sage

Poor Anne. I do sympathize. Sometimes I wish I had an illness that would allow me to be off work for an extended period, but then I think what it could be that would still allow me to work out daily. The next couple days will be over before you know it. Got any letters you really need to write? Any movies you've always wanted to see? Any books you should try to read? Best wishes.

Where DO you find this stuff?

KNIT - or learn if you don't know how. You'll kill time and have something to show for it at the end.

Anne, I know boredom sucks. I'm sorry but I don't know about your condition. How long will you be in recovery? Have you ever done latch hook? I'll tell ya, I don't/can't sew or do anything creative but I discovered latch hooking about 5 years ago around Xmas time. I made all these Christmas theme pillows but I never actually made them into a pillow so I just have a bunch of 12x12 squares sitting around but that's ok. They take up less space. :p It is just about the easiest thing you can do and the time really does fly by. From one bored person to another I will say this....."This too shall pass." HTH!
