I am so tempted!

Hey ladies,

You know that I have gone to the doctor over by foot that has bothered me almost 2 mths. I have to ice my foot and take ibuprofen at least for another 3 wks. People this is killing me. I haven't done any cardio and standing leg work in forever. This is getting very discouraging to me. Even though it is not bothering me, I still have to treat it . I want so bad to do some cardio. It is like when you want that cake, but know you shouldn't. My husband has no idea that I feel this way, because he would have a cow. I know it would be stupid, but I am tasting that step and to hear cathe say power 15's.

I know you're saying that I am crazy, and I know its wrong to do this, I guess I'm asking for some of you to discourage me from this. Because I have took alot of advice from you and it has helped.

I hate to sound stupid, but this is seriously making me mad!

I need some of your support. Any is appreciated.

No stepping kim!!!!! stay off your foot and behave yourself. i know it is hard not to exercise when you love it so much and your foot doesn't hurt, but if you jump the gun and start disobeying the doctor's orders, you will wind up hurting your foot worse and having to go even longer without cathe!

First I have to say...I never go to a regular Doctor for injuries. But, that is just me...:)...have you thought about Chiropractic, Acupuncture or maybe a Physical Therapist???....:)...Carole

Kim, I know exactly how you feel. It is better to take care of your body though, as I am learning the hard way, and to be there and healthy to be able to continue amazing workouts in the long term than to do irreversible damage and threaten this.

Hi carole,

I went to a podiatrist for my foot last monday. I decided to do that instead of going to a regular doctor. They want to see me this week and check how it is doing and whether the swelling has gone down. If they are not satisfied, they will do a synogram. I really don't want to go back. I guess I am stubborn.

Thanks,

kim

Kim, do they know what the problem is??? I know...going to doctors can be a pain, but don't step until it is better as the other posters said it isn't worth it to make it worse...:)...Carole

Yeah the doctor said I had a lot of inflammation in my achilles tendon area. They also made some insoles to go in my shoes. I have to wear my NB everywhere I go, even in the house. They said don't go barefooted, but I hate wearing shoes in the house. But I guess that is another thing I have to obey.

Hey by the way ladies, all of your support and encouragement is helping. I know I can come to all of you and get on the right track. Telling my husband the way I feel would be asking for a lecture. All of you know how I feel.

Kim,

I know how you feel, when I broke my back I wasn't allowed to do anything, so guess what? I figured out a way to work around all their limitations. I started exercising in the air.

But relax do some stretching or whatever your able to do and stay off that leg. It's better to let it heal then to injure it and have to wait twice as long for it to heal as that's usually how it ends up, your only a few weeks way, if you injure yourself now it's another 6 months.

One thing you could do is hand circles, or shadow boxing, it won't get your heart rate really high, but you can do it sitting down. But it will still give you a light cardio feeling. Just box (punch out and to the side as fast as you can, even make you work on a little bit of your balance as well, if you get going with pretty good rhythm.
