I added to my Picture Trail

Thought I'd share some shots of our pets. I don't have anything recent of my horse but need to get some pics of him. We get a big kick out of our dogs. They go with us just about everywhere and even (horrors) sleep on our bed. Can't wait till the weather gets better and we can take the girls out.

Jeanette

Great pictures Jeanette! The horses are beautiful!! I had a daschund growing up, they are cool dogs. No horrors here, our last dog Bosco slept on the bed...:)..I have some pics of my animals on Picture trail, but I have to get my scanner working so I can add some more! Thanks for sharing...:)...Carole

Hi Carol,
I looked at your albums, they are very nice, beautiful pictures. Where in Ashland do you run? I love riding up there and plan on repeating the Mtn. Lakes Challenge in June again. I'd love to live around Medford or Ashland but think it's probably a bit pricey.

By the way, you look great!!!

Jeanette

Great pics! Love the horses and cowboy pictures, and the dogs, and cat! We have a great buddy dog kinda like yours :). Gotta love um. I had to go see where you were from after looking at the scenery in the horse pics. I've spent some time over your way, when I used to live in Paradise, not too far away.

Thank you...:)...What kind of event is the Mtn Lakes Challenge? I run in July at the Skipark. They have a 15K, 50K and a 50 miler. It's called the SOB run for Siskiyou Out and Back. Ashland is about 2 hours from where I live and we drive there for the Vegan restaraunts!! Yes, it would be pricey to live there...:)...Carole

Hi Carole,
Here is the link to the Mtn. Lakes Challenge: http://www.siskiyouvelo.org/MLC06/. I did the metric century 2 years and last year did the full century. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and they feed you well. Lots of riders in the Ashland/Medford area. You have quite a few also in the Redding area.

Ducky, I'm in Susanville, CA, high desert country. We're actually located on the edge of forest land and desert and in the middle of public land so you can do just about any outdoor activity you can think of. I've lived here since 1974 and really like it. The snow and frozen fog last winter got tiresome, though. A bunch of us cyclists would travel down to the valley (Chico, Palo Cedro, Red Bluff) occasionally to get out of the snow.

I love your pictures! My DH would love to have horses. I'm partial to dogs and cats and yours are so cute. We had longhaired dachshunds for years and I miss them so much. Our dogs allowed us to sleep in the bed with them--LOL!

Michele

Michelle, thank you for the compliments. We've had lots of dachshunds over the years but this dachshund is a really a character and has been since about 2 months old. She is the bossiest little thing and makes Lexxie mind. Our dogs love soft toys to play with and right now it looks like 5 toddlers live here with all the toys on the floor.

Your comment about the dogs allowing you to sleep in bed with them made me really laugh. I used to think my DH was just plain "goofy" about dogs. I've become the same way. We're hopeless.

Jeanette

Thanks, Jane. Lexxie was really light when she was a puppy, now she's so dark. She's such a house dog now, doesn't even resemble a hunting dog anymore. Told DH I haven't seen her point a bird in a couple of years. He said that's okay cuz he doesn't hunt anymore anyway. I noticed Jasper right away when you posted more pictures. I thought of Lexxie. Love your pictures and your back looks great!

Jeanette

awwwwwwwwwww gorgeous pics!! i LOVE animals pics!!! lol! i actaully get "mad" at brie that she won't stay on the bed and sleep with us! she'll get up there til you turn the light off.. then she goes in the bathroom... brat! jasmine is ALWAYS on the bed when i wake up in the middle of the night or in the morning (cat) and bailey.. the other cat.. well... sometimes he's in bed.. sometimes he's in the middle of the floor!

hey guess what!?! i got a new bike! a specialized ruby pro! i waited soooooooooooooooooo long for it! i'll be doing my first century of the year.... on her.. this weekend! did a metric century on her last weekend... loved it (except for the seat! still trying to decide if i like it or need to change it!)

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!

Netta,

Love the pics, thanks for sharing! Do you rope? Your horse is beautiful!

One of our technicians here at work has a mini dachshund (black & tan) named Tillie - I'll have to show her your photos!!

I know it well :) My DH and I are both Forest Service employees. He's a district ranger and I'm a geologist. We've spent our life living in small (very small) communities on the edge of public land for a long time now. Outdoor activity is a large part of life when you live the places we have. We both also go out on fires a lot, so that gets us to lots of places we've never been.

Our hunting dog is very much a house dog! Lazy brat. I've got a bunch of pics of my pets here plus tons of others in other albums if anyone likes pet pics: http://community.webshots.com/album/64379207aHDqcw

Hey desertbriez (caligurl):
It's always a 2 dog night at our house and then the cat gets up there too so there's not a lot of moving around, let me tell you!

A Specialized Roubaix Pro!!! My son's girlfriend bought the Comp and it's a beauty. Very light bike. I know you'll enjoy it. Is it black? Hers is. My friend that does Ironman races bought a Roubaix Comp also and loves it and her DH also bought one. Very nice bikes. My first metric this year will probably be Superbowl Sunday near Corning, CA. It's a non-supported ride.

Edie,
No, I don't rope, just went to some clinics and kind of dinked around using breakaway ropes. I did go to a branding and rope a calf once. My horse is so tolerant, I've done team penning, reining, dressage, trail riding, you name it. Sadly, I haven't ridden a lot lately. I've had more of a cycling bug and it's tough to get it all in with the reduced daylight and colder days.

Jeanette

Hi Ducky,
I loved all of your pictures. You have a great family. Wow, your birds are beautiful. What does the cat think of them? Your dog made my DH laugh. We have a friend that has an Spinoni Italiano (something like that) and your dog's face reminds me of his dog. Nice pictures and congrats and the weight loss!!!

Jeanette

Jeanette & Ducky, y'all have some fun pics.

-Jeanette, Tillie is such a doll!

-Ducky,I love the bird pics. They are too cute.
