I think I'm too scared to do acupuncture. I heard it doesn't hurt, but it looks soooo scary and I wouldn't know where to go where I could trust someone....yep, I'm chicken..
I tried that to stop smoking, did not work for me. I quit with the patch. *crosses fingers and toes* Oh, and I also tried laser therapy, etc...nothing worked until I got it through my head I needed and wanted to quit.

In some places, acupuncture and TCM is regulated, but I would still strongly recommend going by word of mouth of someone you trust and I wouldn't go to one for weight loss (acupuncture is much better at treating pain). I have an acupuncturist that I absolutely love - she is a TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) practitioner, and one of her treatment modalities is acupuncture, as opposed to someone that only does acupuncture. I always feel wonderful after an acupuncture appointment. In Ontario, there is a very wide skill range among acupuncturists (from someone that only has a weekend course in acupuncture, to someone that has 7 years of training and 15 years of experience behind them), and you cannot tell by looking at credentials, as it is not yet regulated (only on its way there) and everyone calls themselves a Dr. TCM, or CMD, even though those titles are not recognized in Ontario and are actually illegal. They call themselves licensed, although all they are is members in a professional TCM association, and there are a lot of associations that have no membership skills or training requirements; you just have to send them a cheque and bang! you're a member.
I would definitely try acupuncture - I've been tattooed and pierced, so this would scare me a bit. But...I would definitely ask one of my TKD masters for a recommendation. I wouldn't just hunt the yellow pages.
