DH has been asking what I want for Christmas, and I'm really not sure. But I REALLY want the Cathe wt vest. He doesn't like to buy me "exercise stuff" (as he puts it) Thinks I have enough, feeding the obsession, etc. Its good-natured grumbles, though. So I sent him an email with a link to the wt vest. And what does he say????

"Great, my wife wants a Kevlar vest for Christmas"

My DH said the same thing when I found STS and told him I had already purchased my Christmas present! he didn't like that answer... I think he likes it when I say I'll get it myself, but then where's the thought and feeling behind the gift? Sometimes even when you lead them by the hand and point at the object, they just don't get it! LOL! :D
 
My husband used to grumble about my fitness requests. Now he just accepts it and gets what I want. I guess that is what being married so long is about!
 
My problem with DH and fitness equipment is that when I say I need/want something he says "but I can MAKE that for you! For FREE!" So I am now the proud owner of a homemade weight rack AND a homemade pull-up bar. They actually work just fine but <whines> they are not new and bright and shiny for me to play with.

OMG! I'd be filthy rich if I had a $ for everytime my DM said that when I was growing up when we would go shopping for clothes (she was an avid sewer and I was making doll clothes)... This little "catch phrase" still haunts me to this very day whenever I am shopping, and I can tell you that I am as frugal as they get in most cases! I still refuse to sew my own clothes!
