Hurt Wrist

Okay anybody got advice?? My left wrist hurts...right in the bone. It bothers me when I try to pick up certain things. It does not hurt if I move my hand back and forth, but it does hurt if I move my hand towards my thumb, if that makes sense?? The right one hurt last week. I looked up carpal tunnel, but I have no numbness in my fingers, the description of pain sounded a bit different. My sister and grandmother both have rhematoid(<sp>)arthritsis, but I am pretty sure I would have pain in more than just my wrist!!

Any help?

Thanks,

Kelli

I was recently diagnosed with DeQuervain's tendonitis, which is swelling in the tendons that run from the thumb through the wrist. If it is hard to make a fist and then move your wrist up and down, you may have this. I wouldn't self-diagnose -- I would go to a doctor if you think you have this. It takes a while to heal, and in my case requires physical therapy. The doctor told me he sees it in a lot of people who do yoga.
