Hungry!

Hey guys! So I have notice when I do tough workout rotations I am A LOT hungrier then I would be normally. I noticed this big time while doing Cathe's August '05 Boot Camp rotation. I know that normal be is because I am using more energy and all that, but I'm trying to lose about 7 more lbs. And my weight-loss has totally stalled. And thats not because I'm not getting enough exercise. Because I get plenty. Its because I find myself hungry all the time and while I try to keep it clean I still tend to overeat. Has anyone else experienced this? And suggestions? Thanks!

When you say weight loss, are you dead set on a certain number of pounds or are you keeping track of your measurements? If you're not seeing actual results (i.e. inches), maybe you're not getting enough nutrition? Debbie (FitnessFreak) helps a lot of people out in the Rotation Forum to figure out their calorie/macro needs. You can always see what she suggests and give it a whirl (it seems like people are pretty pleased with the results :))

Are you doing the several minimeals or just three big ones? I've always eaten pretty healthy, but I found that making the switch to eating every couple hours made a huge difference in my hunger level. I found that if I don't actually let myself get hungry, I'm satisfied with a lot less over the course of the day. But once I get to that point where my stomach is physically hungry, I'm just insatiable. I can eat a huge meal, feel stuffed, but I still have this urge to just eat everything in sight. Initially I actually had to adjust my diet to make sure I was taking in enough calories; I'd get to the end of the day and just be floored with how little I had taken in, considering I was full all day.

Bottom line (IMO) if you're eating clean and still hungry, your body's telling you something. And that something is eat!

Good luck!

Hi Laur, that is exactly my experience, I have been trying to lose the same 5 lbs forever but I was always hungry.

I probably won't be much help but here is my experience so far...

A week and a half ago I was in a car accident. I was at a complete stop and got rear ended, the car behind me was going 50 mph, my left ankle is sprained, pinky toe is broken, neck really sore. I have been taking it easy and resting. My appetite has completly diminished and I've lost 4 lbs. It was too diffcult for me to get up and get around so I transitioned back to just eating 3 meals and a snack which was easy. Not sure if some of it was muscle that I lost, not quite sure how that works, but my shorts are a lot looser.

I definately feel that doing the intense workouts made me hungrier. I can't wait untill I can workout again though, I love the shape it has given my body and I love feeling fit and strong. It will still be about 2 or 3 weeks until I can workout. I am hoping I won't gain the weight back, I plan on staying on the 3 meals a day eating. I'll just see how it goes I guess and hopefully I will figure things out.

Sorry I have no suggestions but I can keep you updated if you want. Good luck, I know how frusterating it can be.

I had the same problem when I wanted to take 10 pounds off. Initially, I increased the cardio in my rotations -- and overate. I then tried one of Cathe's slow/heavy rotations with reduced cardio. Did the trick for me. You might try varying the weight work to cardio ratio to see if it has an impact.
