So, one of the guys I work with is going to a PT. I asked him how much she was charging him, and when he told me I said "I would have helped you out for less" and he told me he'd never get me to be his trainer, because I'd be to hard on him}(

Anyway, so he just tells me that last night, his trainer had him doing some sort of modified walking lunges holding a stability ball. She also had him leaning on the ball and doing scissors. For cardio. What the heck...?

hmmm. got me. i've never worked w/ anyone for working out. any smarties out there??

I am a personal trainer in waiting (haven't got the test results yet) but what she's having him do doesn't sound like cardio to me. I'm not sure what the ball and scissors thing is about. Doing walking lunges with a stability ball adds a small amount of resistance but he's working the quads and glutes!! No cardio there....

If he is new to exercise, a modified lunge with a light weight is a good idea. If he's too sore, it will be harder to return for another workout..possibly discouraging. Walking lunges are so great for the glutes!! Cathe often tacks them on to a rotation.

As for the scissors thing...can't picture it so I cannot comment.

Oh, Shelley, I can totally see you whipping him in shape making him do Bootcamp and 100 plie jacks for a warm-up and then making him drop and give you 500 TOE push-ups, a 20-minute levitation hold, and then as a cool-down you could make him do 75 tuck jumps.

Naaah....you wouldn't be too hard on him!!! }(
