How's this for frustrating...

It isn't (even though your computer is telling you it is) 6:30 in the morning as I write this. It is, in fact, 4:30. And no, I'm not like SOME amazon workout queens who actually wake up at this hour to workout, for heaven's sake! I just can't sleep, so I thought I'd get on line in order to get tired enough to get back to sleep. Needless to say, it's not working, and I'm finding all kinds of bargains on videos that I'm tempted to buy, but will resist.
Sitting on the floor by the door are Cardio Kicks and Circuit Max. They are unopened and will remain so. I got them for Christmas, and have every intention of exchanging them for DVDs, but don't have the funds to do so. Arghh! I even sold my CTXs on ebay to help me fund this endeavor, but I still need to wait. So now I'm sitting here, no cross trainer videos to do, and two highly regarded companions in my posession, and I can't do them!!!!
Just thought I'd gripe. :)

wendy--you need to get yourself those dvd's asap! we can't have you missing out on all the 'fun' in leaner legs!! i'm no amazon workout queen, but i have to get up at 4am on weekdays to workout before heading into the office. it's tough--especially in the winter--but well worth it. hope you were able to get back to sleep. if not, you'll deserve a nap this afternoon. suzanna

RE: Suzanna and all early a.m. workout goddesses

Occasionally, in the past, I have been able to rouse myself out of bed at 4:00 or 4:30 for a before-work workout, but for months now it has seemed impossible. And we all know how easy it is for the evening hours to slip away. Please tell me what tricks you use to launch :)-jumpy) yourself out of bed when the alarm clock rings. I KNOW you are just as tempted as I am to re-set it and tell yourself you'll workout "later." Anxiously awaiting your tips!!!

RE: Suzanna and all early a.m. workout goddesses

Like most women whose lives are packed, my time is at a real premium. I feel way too rushed/stressed exercising when I get home from work--I've got to walk the dog, make dinner, spend quality time w/my hubby, etc. The only time I can get in a good session and really enjoy myself is to do it first thing in the morning. So I make myself get up at 4:00, in the freezing cold (boohoo), and work out. It's a matter of discipline and habit. I've been getting up at this time for a couple of years so my body is used to it now. On weekends, I can "sleep in" until 5:00 or 6:00. pathetic, isn't it? Anyway, my motivation is knowing that my blood pressure and cholesterol are low, and that for someone approaching 40, I'm in excellent shape. Thanks to Cathe, I have better muscle tone and am stronger now than when I was in my twenties. There are times when I'm tempted to be just like most of the other women I know, i.e., use that old excuse that "I'm too busy to exercise" However, my body has to see me into retirement, and I want to be healthy enough to be active when I'm old. Taking good care of it now is too important.

I used to get up at 5 REGULARLY and do maximum workouts..I was just kidding with DebbieH that I was going to (maybe) get up this past week at 5:30 to work out before leaving town--and I DID, but it was Precision Toning which is NOT jumping around. In my opinion, if that's the only time without interruption you have, you NEED to take it. There'll come a time when your body says--no, later..but you can't let it say "no, never..."....
