Ok I bought all 8 volumes of cardio coach and I got them all loaded into my new nano under thier own individual playlists. Now How do I back them up in case my computer crashes.
I've tried burning discs. So far I've gone through 5 discs. I just tried burning disc 8. When I play it back I get about 2-1/2 minutes into it and it starts crackling then fades to nothing. Same with volume 1. I play it back and it starts out fine, then crackles to nothing, then comes back 10 minutes later.
I've tried selecting Audio CD, MP3 CD, and Data CD options when burning through iTunes. Nothing is working. In mp3 cd option I got about 2 seconds into the intro then nothing and when I tried Data CD absolutely nothing played back at all. So 5 cd's just wasted.
What do I need to do to back up all my Cardio Coaches?
Also I bought 4 albums through iTunes and I backed up those with no problems (except the first time I got all but the last 4 songs, the second try was sucessful though).
I'm using Sony CD-R music CD's 80 minute audio discs.that I bought at Best Buy.
Any suggestions?
I just searched iTunes "Help" for info about backing up your library and here's what it said (look especially at the last item in red). I wouldn't worry too much about losing the download because I believe Coach Sean will provide replacements for free if you lose one. I think that's stated somehwere on his website.
Backing up your iTunes library to CD or DVD
You can easily back up your iTunes library, playlists, and iTunes Store purchases for safekeeping. To reduce the number of discs needed for a backup, iTunes can perform incremental backups (only items added or changed since the last backup).
To burn a DVD, your computer must have a SuperDrive. Some third-party DVD burners may also work. (For more information, click the first link below.)
To create backup CDs or DVDs:
Choose File > Library > “Back Up to Disc” and then select your options.
Insert a blank disc (CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, or DVD-RW).
Click Back Up.
iTunes burns the number of items that fit on one disc, and then asks you to insert subsequent discs to continue burning the remaining files. Don't eject a disc while a backup is in progress.
To restore backed-up files, insert a backup disc, choose File > Library > “Back Up to Disc,” and then click Restore.
Programs purchased from the Audible website are not backed up.
Discs you create using the iTunes backup feature can be used only to restore; they can’t be played in a CD or DVD player.
Okay, I just burned a CD of Volume 7 and it's playing perfectly in my Sony Walkman CD player.
I didn't do this: Choose File > Library > “Back Up to Disc” and then select your options.
I simply inserted a Memorex CD-R, selected Volume 7 from my playlist, and then clicked the "Burn CD" button in the lower right corner of the screen. I'm about 10 minutes into the CD and no problems at all. HTH
ETA that I found this statement in the "Support" section on the CC website http://cardiocoach.com/support.php "Once you purchase a MP3 download from our Proshop, you will never have to pay for it again if you lose it from a computer crash or accidental deletion. Please use the contact form if you need to have your link reset."

That's exactly what I want to do too is to have a spare disc&back up mainly so that DH can just throw it in the boom box in the basement. I'm hoping that he will like Cardio Coach.
I also backed up my entire iTunes folder onto an external hard drive cuz if my computer crashed, I would hate to have to reload my 3000+ songs/cardio coaches/iTrains etc..
Man, I never thought about burning my Cardio Coach workouts on disc. DS just borrows my iPod and we run seperately. There is a light bulb moment I can burn it on a disc, give him my Sony walkman CD player and he can go with me (so he can't cheat ).
I just want to remind you all to back up your data files. There are automatic online back-up services that aren't too expensive, if you don't want to fool with external drives, disks, etc. It is so worth it to not lose your files (even your Cardio Coaches!)...
