How much of a calorie deficit should I have?

SRP

Hi, ladies - I need a bit of advice. Been adding up my calories eaten and subtracting from my estimated calories burned on FitDay.com. If it's accurate, for the past two days, I've had from 772-885 calorie deficit. How much should I realistically try for if I'm trying to lose say, 5-7 pounds? You all know I work out regularly with Cathe. Thanks!

To lose one pound, you need to accumulate a 3500 calorie deficit. Usually, I've seen it recommended that one go for a 500 calorie deficit per day to lose a steady 1 pound per week (which is a good rate of weight loss to keep it off, unless someone is obese or very overweight, then they could lose more).
