...have noticed that your eating habits have changed when you reached a certain age, and that your body stopped responding to certain exercises? I am in a serious slump. I feel like last year my entire eating style changed and my body stopped responding to exercise. I've gone up a size in my clothes which makes going to work very difficult....nothing like not being able to fit into your clothes to make you crave more chocolate, eh?

I'm also curious if any of you have any solutions...I'm considering seeing a nutritionist.

Reese,

Are you eating every 3-4 hours? I notice when I do this, my cravings are not as bad. I guess my body knows it will be being fed again, soon. Also, I have learned from this site, that cardio is important but so is strength training. I have talked with a trainer before and he actually has people cut back on cardio and add weight training. Age matters, I guess, I will be 43, but since I have been eating that way and lifting I am in better shape than in my 20's. More defined. I really don't know my weight. I had to let go of the scale about 6 months ago because the number ruled me, but since letting go I am not as number obsessed. I go by my clothes now. (Not that I wouldn't love to weight myself daily) it just got unhealthy for me. Good luck and you know there is a ton of great advice on this site.

Hi,

I'm suffering from the "scale" issue as well...I've decided to put it away because I am questioning how accurate it is anyway. Where ever I am weighed, it's always a different number. Thanks for your response.

Be 50 in a few months.

Have had a very very difficult time the past year or two.

Part of it is keeping consistent as I keep getting a sore back so can't do much - or life has it's moments that keep me too depressed (even though this should make it more mandatory to exercise) - or I don't sleep well and can't "muster" up enough energy.

All seem like very bad excuses, but with the combo of changing metabolism and hormones (my BC pills have been switched a few times too) I am in a rut in addition to trying to figure out what my body really wants from me to stay in shape.

Keep reading posts here and trying different things. When I can stay consistent with exercising, I can make a bit of progress.

Unfortunately then I hit my bad times and slide backward.

Good luck :7
