How do you figure maximum training capacity?

I was looking over an old post about Freestyle and in it was a link. I followed the link to read "Tips to Get Best Results from..." and #2 was "Train at 70-75% of your maximum training capacity to avoid overtraining (use moderate weights)".

How does one figure their maximum training capacity?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Sue ...
If this posts twice, well then it just does, after posting the first one I didn't see where it showed up, so I am reposting...
Well Sue, I don't know if you seen the web site that scm/ susan posted last week on Freestyle Training, very good story, heres the web site www.bodybuilding.com/fun/gideons12.htm ... you can email Geri at [email protected] she would answer your questions, she is now a Freestyle Trainer...... HTH have a good day Rhonda :7

Thanks Rhonda-I appreciate that info!

I did check her site out but never thought about asking her this question.

I think actually you’ll find that what is meant by 75% is actually your 75% 12 rep max weight. This has nothing to do with heart rate training as I have the book LBS and it says use a weight that is approximately 75% of your 12-rep max. So (guessing) if you can bicep curl 30lbs for 12 reps you would use 22 ½ lbs. This is to avoid over training so that you never go “all out” on the weights, as you will be weight training on a daily basis.
