How do you feel about people wanting to touch your belly while pregnant?

I bring this up because I know some women are very private, etc and hate when everyone wants to touch thier belly but yet when I was at Easter dinner yesterday, I must have had 5 hands on my belly at once and didn't mind it at all! = )
 
I didn't mind w/DS IF it was family. But I absolutely hated aquaintances or stranges just touching me without asking! I mean I wouldn't touch their belly! I guess it's really down to who does the touching and if asking is involved!
 
I voted that I don't mind. I really don't mind if it's family or close friends. I think I would mind if strangers did it but I haven't run into that situation yet.

I hear ya, Julie. Anyone who has touched mine has been family of sorts or friends...I'm sure if some one I don't really know touched me (especially with out asking), I would get pretty upset...but luckily that hasn't happened!:)

I didn't mind with my son - although I never had a stranger touch my belly. Right now I don't have much of a belly so nobody is touching me. LOL
 
With DS I mainly had family and friends wanting to touch my belly. However, one time when I was out shopping I had a stranger ask if she could touch my belly. Since she seemed harmless I told her okay. I was just happy that I was showing enough for someone to recognize I was pregnant. I think it is sweet how a round belly will bring out the softer side of some people.

If I was to "ban" belly touching, the first person I would ban from doing it would be my DH! He does it sooo much that is sometimes makes me crazy! LOL :p

Hi ladies! I didn't allow strangers to touch my belly, but my close friends and family were ok'd. :) I had to tell more than one stranger not to touch my belly, I am not sure why a pregnant belly is treated like public property. :) I asked one lady if I weren't pregnant would she try to touch my belly... she said "well no"... so I asked her why she thought it was ok just because I was pregnant.

Did anyone see the episode of ER when Hathaway was pregnant and told some lady she couldn't touch her belly... I took my cue from her. Now my friends... I was like a puppy dog wanting my belly rubbed... you should have seen me at work. :) I loved my belly rubbed... it felt soooooo good as it stretched further and further.
 
I'm with the group who says "No problem if it's family or friends; and if they ask permission first." However, should a stranger acost my belly in a public place, they will lose their fingers. I find that to be unspeakably rude.

My 4-year old already loves to rub my tummy. I told her Baby loves to be rubbed, so she likes to give it a rub at least once a day. Very sweet. I don't mind that in the least :) Today when I got out of the shower I pointed out my growing belly to DD. She said, "It's getting so big from all the food you eat!" I said, "No, it's from the baby growing bigger! I eat all that food to help the baby grow!" She paused for a moment, gave me a peculiar look, then asked, "Then why aren't you eating baby food?" Funny kid!

i am one of those people it depends on who's trying to do the touching. i don't mind if it's family or friends. but i hate when strangers think they have the right to rub on your belly. what an invasion of private space...:-(
 
I think we are a common group. I don't mind if family touches, or friends. Nothing is more rude than invading space, ESPECIALLY pregnant space. On the weekend before I was due, my dh and I went out to eat as our last "we don't have catch throwing food and get to feed only ourselves" meal. I was in the bathroom washing my hands. This woman walks strait OUT OF THE STALL and tries to touch my buddah belly. UGH!!! I must have given her the lokk of death or something, because she backed away real fast! :p Don't mess with a pregnant woman's baby, in or out of the womb!
