Housecleaning

I have a 2 story. Since I am a stay at home mom I pick 1 room to thoroughly clean for each day of the week. I clean it from the vent in the ceiling to the baseboards. :) Of course there is the daily pick up and straightening of every room.Does anyone wash their inner shower curtain in hot water w/ vinegar? That gets them sooo clean. (just a little tip):) When we lived in apartments I used to clean peoples apartments and do a few houses while the kids were in school. Having a house takes a lot of attention. We are installing an attic ladder in the ceiling upstairs so I can line the floor of the attic w/ wood and store my containers of holiday stuff. I also only like to use specific cleaners on certain things.

LOL

How about, il y'a un elephant sur mon balcon? I remember that song too. And in junior high my French class was the period we had to say the pledge of allegiance, so I know how to do that en francais as well.

What is up with crazy French songs in a French class?! Of course, it's the crazy songs I remember, not the pluperfect or whatever that was. I swear I knew more French grammar than I did English!

Shelley, and everyone else who responded yesterday, I have to tell you you inspired me to actually start cleaning my house!!! I've been meaning to, every weekend for the past month!! So your thread is what did it. My husband, my cats, and I all thank you!:D

I had a summer Spanish class in 6th grade, and we didn't learn much. One thing we learned was the pledge of allegiance in Spanish--without learning what exactly we were saying. Useful, isn't it? Just walk up to some Spanish speaker and start spouting off the pledge of allegiance.

OMG the best part is when you're in a big group or something and you are all saying the pledge of allegiance in English, to just start it in French. That's fun.

I always found it mindlessly ironic that they made us say the pledge to the American flag in a different language.

So with Spanish in there too, how many languages can you speak??

English, French (both fluent), Spanish (can get around in any situation), and thats about it, though I can somewhat read Italian, and I did study German, but it never stuck with me! (Does "cat" count? LOL!)

Oh, yes, Nancy, decluttering!
I'm afraid if I hired someone to clean, I"d end up doing more cleaning than they did while decluttering before they showed up.

TOO MUCH "STUFF"!

I just talked to my stepmother today, and she has a bunch of new stuff she acquired because her mother died a short time ago. She wants to send ME stuff! I REALLY don't want my dolls and teddy bears and things I had as a kid. I'd never be able to get rid of them. Well, the "human-like" dolls, yes, but not the teddy bears! I want her to donate them, or burn them or give them some kind of nice send-off.

My family (my mom and us 2 girls) have donated our teddy bears to the Fire Department in the past, for kids whose toys were burned.

Cool! Very impressed.

You should also include Health & Fitness Language- you speak that fluently as well! ;)

That's a great idea!
I don't know if they'd like 40-year-old bears with grape juice stains on them, though!
