Okay, I just watched House - the one with the newborn that got her mom's melanoma. Giant freakin' hole through the plot - the mom dies from a pulmonary embolism from two different cancers, they then harvest enough of her blood to keep the newborn alive long enough to eradicate the newborn's cancer. Why the hell didn't they simply harvest the blood while the mom was alive and then perform the surgery on the mom to treat the cancers she had? That would have saved the newborn and the mom.
