Homeopathic treatments for insomnia.......

Anyone ever try this?

I've been dealing with severe nightly insomnia for months.
I took ambien cr for a month before I guess I built up a tolerance to it and it quit working for me. Then I was taking a half muscle relaxer for a back problem and that helped me sleep. Now, off of those I am not sleeping at all. I have samples for Lunesta and Rozerum but am not happy at all with the idea of having to take prescription medicine to sleep at night.
Without it I may sleep an hour or two if I'm lucky. Last night I didn't sleep a bit.

It's starting to wear me down. I asked my chiropractor for suggestions this morning and he is very pro-homopathy and suggested giving that a try. I know exactly zero about it , so I was hoping someone here could help me out . Any ideas or suggestions on what to try???

Thanks so much!

Thanks Edie and Christine,

Tested, retested and tested again for thyroid lately, I had my thyroid gland removed 9 years ago due to cancer so I am tested all the time. Thyroid levels are perfect right now.

I think I am starting perimenopause (I'm 43) and understand that insomnia is not uncommon but I am sleeping next to nothing at all and not napping during the day.
and this is every night and it's starting to take it's toll.

Christine, thanks for the suggestion, But is herbal and homeopathic the same thing? I've tried valerian root and a few other herbs but don't think they were strong enough for me and what I'm going through right now.

Thanks for taking the time to help.
:)

Becky,

I've recently discovered hot chammomile tea with a thin slice of lemon, helps with sleeping and indigestion. I can't believe how well this works! Try it, you will be pleasantly surprised. I don't have a suggestion for your poor back though.x( I hope this may help you a little.

Hi Janie,

I do drink chammomile tea before bed, also use lavender oil, have tried eating carbs, and even turkey for a snack before bed. I've cut out caffiene (never had much anyway) and try to walk after dinner but not too close to bedtime. And none of these things seem to make a difference. Last night when I got ZERO sleep, I had taken Rozerem! (the medicine from the weird commercial with abe lincoln sitting at the table with a beaver and some poor guy who can't sleep)
My doctor said to give it a week to start working but honestly I can't go a whole week and I don't think I'm going to take it again. So I'm looking for plan b.

I do have samples of Lunesta , so I guess that's probably plan b right now, but I am interested in the homeopathic idea too.

Thanks for your suggestion. :) I appreciate it.

Becky,

I feel for you. I hope you get some kind of relief soon. How long can a body continue like this? Hopefully your doctor will have something to help you, but I think you need it ASP.

Prayers your way.

Jen

Thank you! I'm going to check it out in a minute. Just wanted to tell you that my chiropractor said there are very few homeopaths in our area and that he's found the wait to get in to see one is up to 9 months! Also just to talk to one can cost $250 , not covered by insurance!!
Needless to say I can't wait that long .

I'm going to check out the moondrops. Thank you.

Have you tried melatonin? It works pretty well for me--at least getting to sleep. Staying asleep is another matter--usually I have to take another dose at 3 am. You can get it at your local drugstore. Also valerium, but that stuff tastes nasty.
