Homemade beauty

JCM's post about dry winter skin reminded me of this site I found a couple years ago. I've found some really nice homemade beauty product recipes here and thought I'd share. I went from spending about $40 a month on face care products to about $10 a year and my skin looks better.

Glad you started this! I just returned from a trip to my local health store! After the grapeseed suggestion - which has been great - I've spent the last day researching oils etc. Now I'm experimenting - should have checked the forum sooner. I just mixed grapeseed oil w/ a bit of avacado oil, rosewater glycerin, and a few drops of German chammomile and geranium. I wanted to try sandalwood but it was a bit pricey at this point. Should be interesting!

Thanks for the link. Should provide hours of entertainment!

Oooooo.... sounds fun. I'm not sure if the recipe for the cinnamon and coffee body scrub is on that site, but I've used that a few times. Makes a heckuva mess in the shower, but smells wonderful and makes your skin feel really nice for a little while.

I just made two batches of sugar scrub today with grapeseed/safflower oil, sugar (I use a mix of raw and organic evaporated cane juice which is more grain-y), almond extract in one and cocoa powder/cinnamon in the other.
