I just saw an infomercial on hip-hop abs this morning. It looks pretty fun (Shaun looks so young!!). What are your thoughts? Also, when the heck is Asylum coming out? I'm such an exercise DVD junkie!! I ordered Cathe's Cardio & Weights workout, StretchMax and OF COURSE her 4 new DVD's and can't wait to get it in the mail!!:eek::eek:

I found Hip Hop Abs last year at Half Price Books. I haven't done it recently, but it is a lot of fun. Gotta love Shaun T... One of the workouts on it was so much fun that when I first got it, I did it constantly, and when I wasn't doing it I was thinking about doing it!! It's not hard core like Insanity :D but it's great when you don't feel like working hard and just want to have fun. One of the discs is "5 Minute Abs" (or something like that), and I'll do that one occasionally when I'm in a hurry but want to do some quick ab work.

In fact, I think I might get out Hip Hop Abs and give it a whirl again soon!

I loved Insanity, but I screwed up my knee while I was doing it. Actually, I didn't hurt it doing the workout, but while I was sitting on the sofa watching TV the day after a workout....:D The knee is finally almost back to normal and a week or two ago I tried one of the Insanity workouts again, but I modified it so much, it didn't feel the same...:( I'm definitely not getting Asylum until I'm able to do Insanity without worrying about my knee again.

I'm an exercise DVD addict too! I just pre-ordered Cathe's new DVD's, and also just ordered 4 Exhale Core Fusion workouts. Plus, I was in Half Price Books again the other day and got a couple more miscellaneous workouts. I'm doing an STS rotation now, so I don't know when I'm going to fit all of this in.....So many workouts, too little time... I'm soooo waiting for Cathe's new ones!!!

Hi Denise,

Thank you for your feedback! It looks like a lot of fun and not super high-impact which is always nice to have as an alternative workout! I'll see if I can get it cheaper than the web-site shows.

Happy Wednesday!

I found hip hop abs to be way too "light" of a workout. It was fun a few times, but I felt like I was wasting my time. I seem to have to workout a lot as it is to even maintain my weight, so low calorie burns without strength training benefits are no good for me. I was able to sell it on ebay for exactly what I bought it for. If you are interested, also check out QVC they used to have it with free or cheaper shipping.

Regina, it's the 30 min. Fat Burning Cardio. I like it because it's just goofy fun and you can make it as easy or as difficult as you want depending on how hard you want to work it! There's one sequence in it called "Get Busy" where you put each arm behind you like you're putting your hands in your back pockets, then you put them in the front and combine this with a couple of other moves. This combo was so much fun and it made me think I was actually coordinated!

It's one of those "easy day" kind of workouts.:)
