high step?

I think I am going to break down and order the high step. Didn't really want more equipment just for one workout. Is it absolutely necessary for the high step workout or can my regular step substitute okay? Also, how many risers does everyone use. 14 or 16 inch?

Hi Lizzy ~

Since leg presses are done by stepping down behind the step/bench, you could get away with purchasing enough risers to make your regular step at least 14" high. I think most people use 14" for leg presses (some use 16" but I think that's kinda tall for the number of reps in Cathe's workouts). Another determining factor is how tall you are - taller exercisers need higher steps.

FYI-

If you have the right brand step w/ enough risers already, all you would need is the high step topper....who ever makes the topper,makes a regular step and the risers are interchangable between the 2...
