High Step.....12" or 14"??

I'm just wondering what most of you use for a high step. I'm thinking about buying one but not sure if I should get the 12" or if it's worth the additional $20 (with shipping) to add 2 inches and get the 14". I'm only 5'2" with short legs. Currently I take my reebok step and set my old Jane Fonda step on top of it....probably not a very safe idea. Any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

RE: High Step.....12

Hi there well , what you are doing is surely not very safe.

I'm 5'2" also and not very long legged ;) and I use my High Step at 14", when I 1st started with using a high step about 2 or 3 yrs ago it was at 12", I find I get better results at 14".
My High Step was very worth getting at the 14" plus I also ordered 2 extra steps for low ends. I don't much use the 16" or 18" only for low ends and for sitting but I like having them when I feel the need to use them.

RE: High Step.....12

I'm 5'2" and I use the high step at the 14" height most of the time for leg presses. If I'm not feeling up to par, or want to really heavy-up on the weight I'm holding, I'll drop it down to 12". All together I have 6 risers for my high step platform, which works very well for me. It gives me the option of putting three risers under each side of my club step to use as a low bench. And sometimes I do use all six risers on my high step - for doing seated work and for sit-n-stands.

You can buy extra risers at fitness1st or fwonline for $10 each.
