Hi everyone and please pray for my son

I am praying for YOU and your son. It is such a difficult disease and I pray that he can overcome his addiction. Bless you for being a good mother and being so caring. Make sure you get help and take care of yourself, too.

My thoughts are with you and your son.

Hi Barbara! I will keep your son and family in my thoughts & prayers. It is normal for you to worry about him. Let's hope this will work for him. Keep us posted and BIG hugs to you for caring so much!

My prayers are with all of you. I really second the Alanon meetings. You will not feel so alone and hearing how others have coped is a great comfort. I hope your son has hit bottom and only goes up from here. One very good thing about treatment is all the "seeds" that have been set for him to think about. Even if he should "slip" he will always remember what he has heard. The longer he is in treatment the better. Does he like to exercise? Exercise is very helpful in clearing the body of impurities and the mind from 'stinkin thinkin". Even outdoor yard work and activites will help. Writing ones feelings down everyday also helps. It is nice to go back and read about good days. Does he have a sponsor? The right one is indeed a blessing. It may take a while til he feels physically better, being patient is important. Good luck to all of you, restarting ones ways is both challenging and exciting. God Bless You All! Peggy

Barbara,
First off I want to send you HUGE hugs.
The fact that your son is 18 and realizes he has a problem AND has been sober for 30 days is a BIG accomplishment.

Continue to support him and believe in him!

I believe he will succeed!

It just wanted to say with deep down in my heart thanks for all your prayers and support. It really means a lot to me. Today is 30 days for him:) he went to 2 meetings yesterday and got a sponsor that he really like. He is 19 years sober. It's hard for me because I have to drive him to his out patient and meetings and try to keep him going because he seems to not know what to with himself but he did get the big book yesterday which he is reading. Thanks again:)
