Just a quick ? for you~When you do the spinal erector exercises in the BB&A's tape, do you squeeze your glutes tight while lifting? This seems to help take the pressure off my back. Just want to make sure I'm doing it right. Thanks and YES, I am still enjoying the PS Series while I await the DVD's!!!
I'm not Cathe (duh!) but I always contract my glutes when doing these exercises. But it's more than that really. I really concentrate on doing a pelvic tilt (therefore squeezin' the cheeks!) and instead of focusing on lifting high, I try to make myself long. In other words, really stretch forward with your arm and stretch behind with the leg. I have a particularly finicky back and this set of 'rules' has really kept this exercise safe and effective for me! Ah, take it or leave it!
