Hey ValC!!

Cathlete
Don't you have a race coming up soon or did you run it already? Was just curious. I am impressed with anyone who trains for a run. Give us all the details. I'm sure you did or will do great!

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for remembering. Yes, I've got a 10K coming up on September 16. It's a difficult one with plenty of hills, but it's still not as difficult as the one Kristin ran. I've been doing the Xpress series in the am and have been running 3x a week, one three-mile run all out, one four-mile run, sometimes with the last mile being an interval run, and either a four-mile or five-mile run. I'm not a fast runner. I ran a summer series of seven races, one 10K, two five-milers and the rest 5K's, and I was proud that on the 5K's I had a few races under a 10-minute pace.

It's so funny what you say about running. I never imagined I could run, either, because I thought you had to have special abilities. Since I started, I really enjoy it. I think it's the hardest cardio there is. (Does anybody else think that way?) Thanks for asking. Thinking of joining us runners??

You're Welcome!

Good Luck with your race. Wow, it sounds like you have really trained hard in the past to enter all those different races. I do run sometimes. (Not very consistently though as I enjoy doing my vids.) I did run in a "Labor Of Love" run that our church sponsers for the Pregnancy Crisis Center every year in downtown Akron. It's just a 1-Miler but they do have a 5-miler! Never attempted that one though. Hmmm, maybe I should get HoneyBunch and Erica to start training with me for next year's 5-miler??? I really do admire you, Val~~Good Luck & let us know how it goes!

Running

I agree with you, Val, about running being the hardest cardio there is. I can do videos all day long, but running wipes me out. I just got a HRM and am confused about what to do - I'm over my target heart zone the whole time I run (hilly road). Best wishes for your race!!
Debbie - I'd be glad to train with you and HB. If only I could get DH to move back to Summit County at least!! See you soon!
Erica

Hi Erica!

Actually, I meant to be cyber-buddies in training encouraging each other and maybe we could meet a few times to run. I know that for the next few months I'll probably be tied up doing my new DVD's, so maybe we could start training next Spring when the weather breaks and we would be ready by Labor Day! Just an idea.(Better yet, you need to convince your hubby to move back to Summit County!

) We can discuss it when we meet up with HB on Saturday. Can't wait to see you again!
