When I am
>really having a hard time with a workout, I imagine that I am
>in one of Cathe's classes, people all around me, and there is
>open casting call for her new video. Everybody is trying
>their best, but she's looking at me saying, "that's
>her...that's the one we want...just look at her go!" It
>sounds totally insane (of course, I wouldn't tell this to
>anyone but a couple of thousand total strangers) but doing
>this makes me really pay attention to my form, my memorization
>of the w/o, helps me not to be sloppy.
Thanks for sharing! I'm sure that there are many of us who do things to keep ourselves motivated that might söund strange if said out loud! When I would do running on an indoor track, I imagined tat I was running with a tiger (not that he was chasing me, because I found that to be a rather negative image, but that we were running together, or that I was playfully chasing him). It helped take away some boredom, and helped me run more.
When I do a rather boring/repetitive wokrout like SS (which also has some iffy form), I sometimes imagine that *I* am teaching the class and go through the instructions in my head, as if I'm presenting to a class.
Heck, I might snitch your idea about the casting call. But then what if you start showing up in this fitness daydream and start disputing which one of us Cathe is going to choose?
If you're a goober, I guess I'm a Megagoober!
