Hey Fitnik!

I know you're in London and I heard on the news this afternoon that 'precautions' are being taken re: the events in the US, I wondered if you had been effected?

BTW I noticed your post over at the Firm forum. Which of these tapes do you like/find effective? I don't currently have any of their tapes, but I might give them a try one day if I can bring myself to do a non-Cathe w/o :) Where did you buy them from?

I also notice that you have some Karen Voight's. Which ones? I have Energy Sprint and Great weighted, I quite like both but have never really been interested in any of her others, though, again, I might try some others out in the future. Did you buy your Voight's in PAL format from the London contact no.?

Up here in the frozen North fit people are getting ready for the Great North Run, I think it is a half-marathon? Unfortunately I have never really taken to running but I do like to power-walk so as I get fitter I may give running another try - I just feel so conspicuious (sp?)ruuning around for no apparent reason. Do you run at all? - tempted by the challenge of the London marathon?

Hope you are well. Stay fit.

A fellow Brit

Great to hear from you.

The attacks are indeed shocking but I work in Westminster (I'm a solicitor) and it was mainly the City that was evacuated yesterday. My friends at Canary Wharf are very nervous as it's the tallest building in London, indeed in the UK.

Yes I do run - I've done a few 5km (Race for Life, Flora Light Challenge) and 10km races. Very good, all-round exercise. I also spin, albeit on my elliptical trainer - this tones your legs and gets your CV in one fell swoop.

I have many Firm tapes including the notorious Standing Legs, Tough Tapes 1 and 2 and the Crosstrainers - Firm Strength and Firm Cardio - they are very demanding but generally time-efficient and extremely effective. I'm a typical mesomorph and always see results quickly, typically within a couple of workouts. I got most tapes from Amazon.com but also a few from the Firm sale this summer. I have tried all the ones I have but do not like the so-called "Classics" and prefer the "Parts" tapes.

Keeping fit is such an inspiration, isn't it? I raised nearly £400 from the Race for Life alone for Cancer Research and have inspired people at work to start a lunchtime running club !

Anyway, keep in touch and do try the Firm tapes if you can - keep those muscles confused so they continue to develop !!

Fitnik xx
