HEY BANSLUG!

Hi!

Since I know you've had GREAT success with BFL, I need to ask your opinion. I'm trying to incorporate the BFL weight work into my routine but by using Cathe videos. I just don't have the mental stamina to do it on my own...I'm a little ADD, I suppose. Anyway, is the CTX Upper Body Split considered BFL? I did it today and felt fried at the end, but didn't know if that would give me the best end results.

So what would your Cathe pick be?

Thanks!
Michele

Hi, Michele! (I always get a bit embarrassed when I see my 'name in lights'! LOL)

CTX upper body. That's an awesome one, isn't it?

My FIRST choice of a Cathe weight workout to fit as closely to BFL-style weights would be the Pyramids. I've been alternating between PUB/PLB and a BFL routine. However, we always have to do what works for us. So if you are feeling challenged, like you're giving it your ALL, then by all means use CTX! The idea behind the BFL weight pyramid is to work up to a weight that gets you to "your 10" (meaning you're maxed out and can't squeek one more single rep in).

I'm completely SOLD on the idea of the SECRET of success with ANY program is to be CONSISTANT with your eating and your INTENSE workouts!

I hope that helps you! Good luck!

Hi Gayle!

My only problem with PUB is I feel like I'm doing endless reps and my mind starts to wander...especially with the chest work! Maybe I'll alternate between the two, and see how it goes. I hadn't done CTX UBS, and yowza! My biceps especially are feeling it today!

Another question..are you doing HIIT cardio only? I'm having a hard time with that one. I'm so used to running to my CC's!

My eating is as clean as it'll ever be. I haven't TOUCHED a bit of "junk" in almost a month!

Thanks for your help!

Michele-it sounds like you're doing really well! I may have to pull out CTX next week! LOL Sometimes, I like to do either PUB or the BFL weight pyramid, and THEN tack on a body part section from another workout too! For instance, I might do PUB and then do the bicep work from CTX. Just a thought! LOL

As for cardio, my very first challenge, I did strictly HIIT 3 times per week. And I had awesome results.....much to this cardio-junkie's surprise! LOL But this time around, because I'm also training for an April Half Marathon (and a May one too), I've got longer runs tossed in on the weekends, and sometimes increased mileage during the week also! (oh, and I'm an iTread junkie! LOL)
