Dominican, check with your doctor if you are high risk. He/she will probably say no. You are almost out of the first trimester when rates of miscarriage are high so you can start to relax. I would slowly start back and do what your body is comfortable with. Don't shy away from the check in. We expect to see you at the moms to be check in soon.

I also had a miscarriage with my second pregnancy at 13 weeks so with this pregnancy I checked with my doctor about exercise because I didn't want to do anything wrong. I took it very easy the first trimester (such as walking) and as shopaholic said I eased into it in my second trimester (stationary bike and weights). My body reacted very well and my doctor gave me the thumbs up. Now at 37 weeks I have had a GREAT pregnancy and attribute a lot of that to the exercise I have done. But be careful for any signs like overheating, dizziness, heart racing, pain, etc. Your doc should be able to cover all of this with you. Good luck, I know where you are coming from!

Hi Dominican,

I completely understand your fears. I am 14 weeks with twins and have had two m/c...My doctor said that exercise, especially cardio is very important right now. I am considered high-risk (twins and m/c's) and he said that walking, swimming, elliptical, yoga, all low-impact things are fine to do until I feel discomfort. I was so scared to begin again. Definately express to your doctor about your concerns. Ask all the questions you want.

My doctor did not have me start exercising again until about 11 weeks. Now, it is a few times a week and I feel really good getting back into it - not like I use to, but it is something.

About the lifting, he actually said that I can lift lighter weights (no heavy lifting), but that cardio was the most important thing to do.

I really listen to my body, unlike my previous pregnancies, now when I am tired - I am tired - and I just relax. I have been resting a TON and sleeping all that I can. This is our time to take it easy. Our bodies are working so hard to house these little babies, so that is a workout enough. I never, ever do anything that I have any question about - it just puts my mind at ease.

Ok, so for the long post - I just understand your fears. Anytime you need to "talk", I am here for you! Oh, by the way...
CONGRATS on your pregnancy!! YEAH!!! CELEBRATE! :) :) :) :) :)
