Question...I've recently picked up my cardio intensity, thus started using Cathe videos, specifically,Imax 3, Muscle Max, and Slow & Heavy. I love them all!!!..my problem is...my appetite has increased tremendously since and therefore I am not losing any weight. I only want to lose 5-10 pounds...anyone else have same problem..any suggestions??

thanks.

Hi

I work out pretty intensely most of the time and eat like a horse because obviously my body is screaming for it. I seldom gain weight, but those here who post that they gain weight or maintain the same weight also add that "inch-wise" & according to clothing fit, they are smaller. In other words, they are gaining muscle but are "packed tighter" therefore smaller. Muscle weighs more than fat. Does that make any sense?

Bottom line, measure yourself on a regular basis and go by measurements not the scale. I'd be willing be bet you are losing some inches and if you are eating pretty clean, you'll probably see the last pounds come off - those last few are always the most stubborn.

I am sure someone else here will chime in and explain this more clearly and techinically. Hang in there.:)

hey thanks, your right. I found an old journal I started but never kept up with last year. I weighted the same but looks like I've lost an inch off each thigh and an inch on my waist! I'm so lazy when it come to taking measurements, keeping up with food/work-out journal..etc...

Hi luv, I tried to find a recent thread for you that posted a web site where you could calculate your daily caloric need to maintain weight, but I couldn't find it. Maybe someone else knows the web site? Anyway, if you want to lose weight, you obviously can't increase your caloric intake, even if you've upped your activity level. And you can probably help curb your new and improved appetite with your food choices. Others here are much more knowledgable than I, but snacks high in fiber and protein may leave you more satisfied. Good luck and enjoy your workouts.
