Help with how to do endurance workouts and increase weight

I recently posted a message asking if ctx upper body was classed as an endurance exercise video. Thank-you for the replies - it turns out that it is.

I struggle with endurance videos because I find it hard to increase the weights. For example, I do CTX upper body and find it reasonably easy at the weights I do. However, I cannot increase the weight and keep up with the speed. How do people manage to increase the weights? Do you start the set with a heavier weight and quickly swap to a lower weight when you can't manage.

What is the best/toughest upper body endurance workout?

I really like the burn you get in the gym style workouts from using the band though I don't actually like the band exercises. I like what they do but I don't enjoy doing them!!

What is the best endurance workout for getting your muscles really hot and giving them a really good burn? How mad it sounds to be asking that question!!??! It sounds masochistic!

The BEST workout for any one person is very individual, but sometimes it helps to see what works for others.

Power Hour and Muscle Enduarnce are endurance workouts that fit yor desctiption. PH gives me a lower body burn because the lower body segments are L-O-N-G. Muscle Endurance has (for me) a challenging bicep segment. The Pyramid workouts can be considered endurance based on the number of reps involved. I have had great results with all of these and had to increase the weights over time. Also if you stop the endurance workout for a time and go to heavy lifting, even for a short rotation, it can be helpful to your muscles ( But I'm sure you know that already)

Honestly, whenever Cathe goes over about 12 reps, I find I can't ever increase. Something about endurance workouts.....you know, where you do a zillion bench presses.......it is very hard to ever increase. That is why I have a strong preference for strength/mass workouts (S&H, PS, Gym Style). I think that CTX is good for toning and endurance but not good to add mass and build strength significantly. Just MHO. Some Cathe tapes I absolutely hate because after three years doing them I have only gone up, maybe 5 pounds. Seems wrong.x(

This is exactly what I do to increase weights on endurance workouts. After a few times starting off with a heavier weight, I find that I can eek out a couple more reps with the heavier weight before I have to switch to something lower.

Any of the endurance weight workouts can give you that evil burn if you go heavy enough. And the band work is awesome for that sort of thing. I pretty much want to die doing the band work on shoulders in the GS shoulders workout!

Thank goodness its not just me that struggles with the band in the shoulders workout. I find the side lateral raises with the band really hard. I do not know how she makes it look so effortless, as if the band has no resistance. I can do the reps - but its a struggle.

I will try starting with a heavier weight and going lighter on endurance to increase reps.

I don't like endurance workouts for the same reason as naughtoj - I find it really hard to increase weights. I always lift heavy weights but i am trying to incorporate endurance to create a more balanced routine
