HELP! Ebay woes...

My boyfriend & mom tried to get me Lady Gaga tickets for my birthday. They placed a bid on ebay and won the ticket, but the seller did not put insurance on it nor did he send the item certified, so no one had to sign for it. USPS confirmed delivery 1/12 but there is no ticket in sight. We think maybe someone who lives at the address (there are 3 apartments) picked it up instead of us. Is there anyway we can get our money back? This is complete bull!!! Ebay pretty much said they won't help do anything and my mom's credit card refuses to dismiss the charge on her card since it was confirmed delivered. Where can we go from here? Police report? PayPal? I don't even know what to do and I am so aggravated right now!!!!!!

Melissa...oh no! Especially since they are Lady Gaga tickets! I feel your pain. Have you gone to ALL the neighbors to ask about it? Maybe it's sitting on someone's kitchen counter.

:( Please keep us posted!

I don't know if this will help you at all, but a delivery confirmation means nothing. I learned this the hard way on a DVD trade on another forum.

The post office basically told me its a flawed system that anyone can "work".

I hope your tickets show up!!!

JacMar, that's exactly what the post office told us too. Well, I'm disputing it via PayPal now. This seller sounds shady anyway; his listing on Ebay said it was being sent with insurance on it and USPS confirmed there wasn't any insurance placed on the item. Hopefully PayPal can help us get our money back.

Who sends concert tickets via regular mail?! When I sent my friend hers, I made sure to certify that bad boy, I wrapped it up in 4 sheets of paper, and I sent it next day delivery. This is why I hate Ebay.

Melissa...the mere fact that he didn't insure it after telling you it was going to be insured is enough to nullify the sale. Can you obtain written documentation in some way from the post office?

I think PayPal is your best bet at this point. I'm surprised that ebay won't do anything, given that the seller did not complete his end of the agreement. (No insurance).

Best thing you can do, if you get stuck and are out the $$ is leave negative feedback. At least you can prevent someone else from having this problem.

I am sorry that this has happened to you. Did the post office confirm that they delivered it to your apt? Experiences like yours and two bad experiences that I have had is one of the reasons that I steer clear of ebay.
