have to admit.. I still don't know how to do step..

I did get the basic step and did it no problem. It also had another step workout (body fusion) that was fun and I got it down rather easy. But then I tried putting in one of the regular step workouts (Body Max 2) and I couldn't keep up at all!! so many new steps and so fast! I REALLY want to get it down but am a bit overwelmed. I wish I could play the tape in slow mo or had a section explaining the steps slower so I could practice. Any advice on getting it down? are there tapes in between Body Fusion difficulty and Body Max 2? I usually just do kickboxing/weightlifting workouts or basic aerobics.

Oh, Jess - that was gutsy to try to go from Basic Step / Body Fusion to Body Max 2. Your instincts are correct - you'll want to find some step routines where the choreography is less complex.

I don't know what DVDs you have right now, but you may want to contemplate getting the Cross-Train Express (CTX) series; this one has several step routines in which the music bpms are somewhat slower than BMax 2, and IMHO the choreography is more "gettable".

Jess,

I am the worst stepper in the world. I made myself do the 4DS low impact step workout, and caught onto it. Now since Cathe uses alot of the same moves, I am able to do some of her step workouts without too much drama and tears.;) The more you do them the better you get, I swear it!

Well...I don't either! So there!

I have Bootcamp, KPC, KM and High Step Training Advanced for my cardio along with my elliptical and my first love (my bikes). I have to admit even kickbox is a challenge for me. I'm really awkward so watching me can be really comical.

Jess,

Have you tried Low Impact Step? It's the suggested next step after BS/BF. It's challenging, but does quite a bit of breakdown so the moves are easy to pick up. I also like Low Impact Circuit. I think once you get those down, you will feel a lot more comfortable with the other step WO's.

Best of luck to you!

thanks everyone!! I'll get Low Impact Step and Circuit. I don't have either.
Good to hear others are like me though and do other cardio. I wanted to learn though cause it looks fun if you get the moves down. I wanted more to mix things up.
I haven't tried again in a while cause I ended up staring at the TV like WHOA!? lol. I'm glad there are some slower paced ones. Guess I'll start there. ;)
