August

Cathlete
http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/ad/wootrock.gif I ROCK!

http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/ad/worthy.gif THANK YOU SLOOPY AND ALL!

I AM A WORK MACHINE!! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/ad/wtg.gif

I cannot believe that I was able to finish what I needed to finish before leaving for my out of town stuff. YAY! I feel so free! FREE!

JENNIFER -

>I need cardio but sometimes I hate it

http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/ad/yikes.gif You should never say such evil things in Cardiohatesville! LOL.

>How's Mooch, Chami, LuLu, and Yoyo. Did I get the names right?
>Seville and Madrid want them to come over and play, bird watch, etc..

Yes, you got the names right!

Seville and Madrid are always very welcome to come over and play, however I'm afraid I'll have to forbid them from bird watching, as Mr. Caw has issues with being watched while he snacks and poops on my balcony.

http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/angry051.gif

SHANNON -

>You'll be glad to know I did NOT do cardio last night.

Really? Me, either! Me, either! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/dance009.gif

>Do you like to do leg workouts?

http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/ad/happyno.gif

MICHELE - LMAO! OMG, that weight vest looks incredibly uncomfortable! http://bestsmileys.com/lol/10.gif I can't wait to hear how it is! Have you tried one on before? Is that for leg workouts?

How's your cough? Did you get some sleep?

If you really are going to try one of those mouse I suggested, maybe I should ask specifically which of those is the one they use. They all look familiar to me LOL, but I'll bet one is superior to others. They aren't cheap mouses, so if you'd like more detail, please do tell me and I'll be very happy to find out!

DANA -

>This is the time of year when I start complaining about my DH!!!

LOL. Well anyway, good for you for sticking to what's good for you for your lunch break.

>Do you still have all 4 kitties?

You know, I think the answer has come to us. It seems that Yoyo and Lulu really need some wild play and Mom just isn't able to give it to them. So what we've been doing now is they come over in the evenings while Mom and I have dinner, and then they go home with Mom. Today, we had a lunch appointment, so they came up early and have been romping with Mooch and Cham all day. Mom will come for dinner and then take the monsters home. I think it's a good system for now until they get older and more lazy LOL.

At least I hope that's a good plan.

Apparently when my mom goes close to the carrier, Yoyo and Lulu immediately run inside it to come over LOL. I'm glad I'm popular. Or maybe the huge box is the popular one.

ROBIN - Would you like the Sloop recipe? I've got both Michele's and Shelley's versions in my files. Just tell me which one and I'll copy it here!

>lots of fresh seafood.

Mmmmm, I love fresh seafood. That sounds fantastic and so healthy. How awesome is that to go on vacation, have delicious foods and come back a few pounds lighter. Woo hoo!

>Did you get much of your project done after Michele scolded you?

She cleared the path and helped me get to my destination! Thank you!

Okay, I've got to make some WW spaghetti now so that Mom and I can enjoy Sloop Pasta tonight. Oh boy!

I will be out of town allllll weekend ( http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/ad/horse.gif x 2) so I'll see you guys when I get back. The 4 monsters will all stay at my place while I'm gone jussss in case.

......unless.......I take my computer with me! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/think004.gif

I'll have to see about that!

Laters! :*

Way to go Ms August, the work machine kitty amusmentpark queen! And yes, it would probably be easier if you would send me the sloop recipe than for me to try to find the recipe in my mountain of recipes pile. Yes, yes, take your computer with you. Maybe you should consider taking the monsters with you too. Have cats, will travel.

Michele, you were mentioned in the OAL thread yesterday as MIA. You are missed there sweet pea.

Hi to Shannon, Dana, Jenn, Jennifer and anyone else. I'll be back later.

Hello Haters.

Another day of snow, but rain mixed in. We're getting closer to spring.

August-Yoyo and Lulu are social. They need Mooch and Chami to hang out with. My boys (Seville and Madrid) are almost 3 years old and they are quite active.

Jen-How are you? Where are you? How's Chad?

Good news, my friend, Michele, who's on a life changing journey called me last night and told me she's worked out 3 days this week already. I was only expecting one or two. I told her last night she was my encouragement. Right now, it's the Biggest Loser first DVD that she has, it has BC, Cardio, and toning on it. We ordered Cathe's Basic Step since her step came with Body Fusion.

Tonight it's CF for me. Sat am s/b ACS2 with one more preview.

It's still dark here, should just go back to bed but can't.

Morning haters.

Robin - fresh seafood!!! YUM. I love, love, love seafood, could eat it everyday.

August - that is a good plan for the kitties. They're young so I'm sure they have tons of energy. You should tell mom to post in hatersville in your absence. HA!!!

I WILL get in a workout tonight. Nothing going on and I don't think that DH has anything car related going on. He actually went to baseball practice last night with us. That is a rare occurance for him.

I'm swamped to so I better get a movin'!

Hey to Jen, Shannon, Jennifer and anyone else!!! Have a great day!

Howdy do!!

OMG I stayed up until about 3:30 AM watching Dancing With the Stars -- LMAO!! I was curious about the show so I went to the website and -- lo and behold -- you can watch it online!! I had never seen the show and I'm constantly hearing about it so I wanted to see what all the hubbub was about. I LOVE it!

SooOOOoooOOOooo I way overslept -- I JUST got up and I have to run. I'm having my lab work done today (this is for my physical that I had last week). I haven't had anything to eat for over 12 hours and I'm starving!

I'll be back as soon as I get my blood drwn and have something to eat, and my coffee, of course!

Somebody misses me!? I'll have to check that out.

Michele, you crazy gal. You could have waited till daylight to watch DWS via your computer! I like the show too, but rarely stay up to watch it. Good luck with the lab work.

Dana, yes, seafood everyday would suit me too. My biggest problem now is trying to find out which kind of fish to eat. I read a book about sea turtles during vacation and found out how harmful some fishing methods are for them. And I know some kinds aren't as healthy as others etc. I'm not sure where to find out the info I need to make smart choices. Trying to be environmentally aware while eating healthy is soooo hard. I used to eat lots of blueberries until I found out that blueberry farming is one of the most harmful for songbirds due to pesticides. So I'm back to apples and oranges until someone tells me otherwise. Sigh.

ROBIN - Ooh, I would love to take my kittens with me. How great would that be? Well, great for me. Not so great for them LOL.

JENNIFER -

> My boys (Seville and Madrid) are almost 3 years old and they are quite active.

3 and still active? Uh oh LOL. Yoyo and Lulu are waaay more hyper than my guys for some reason. I mean, if I wave any toy at all, they go berserk. I'm glad they can come over and go wild over here. Cham and Mooch get pretty wild, too.

That is absolutely fantastic about your friend Michele! You've been such a great influence and support for her. She sounds like she's really inspired and feeling good. That's really wonderful!

DANA -

>that is a good plan for the kitties. They're young so I'm sure they have tons of energy.

Thanks for saying so. I realized that after Yoyo and Lulu were spent about two weeks here, they'd come in the evenings with Mom for when I was making crock pot stuff, and they'd stay here while Mom was here for a couple hours, and then they'd all go home and all was great.

Then I got busy and couldn't make crock pot stuff, so Mom and I were eating out, leaving each of our squirrels in our own apartments. It was after a few days of that that Yoyo started meowling his head off. I guess he and Lulu need that daily outing.

I hope we're doing the right thing, anyway!

I need to find a better carrier for them because they're getting super heavy and my mom is lugging them back and forth so much...

>You should tell mom to post in hatersville in your absence. HA!!!

LOL!

Hope you were able to get in a good workout!

MICHELE - Dancing With The Stars until 3:30am?! Geez! It must be pretty good. Or else nothing else was on LOL.

Hope you had good lab work and a very satisfying meal afterwards!

Okay, sorry for the wait, Robin, here it is! Sloopy Joes A La Michele! You'll have to ask her directly how much lentils that amount is since my computer did a funk on it. I think I used 1 3/4 cups because that was how much was in the bag LOL.

Michele ate hers with cheddar cheese. I can see how that would be really yum. Tonight Mom and I ate ours on whole wheat pasta with spinach, and I cut up a bunch of green olives and shredded up a bunch of parsley, and then put lots of parmesan on it. It was really good.

I also had a little midnight snack of the Sloopy with cottage cheese and that was really nice...though I know a lot of you Haters aren't gourmet enough to enjoy the delicate flavors of cottage cheese LOL. It was still yum.

If I don't see you guys tomorrow it means I didn't take my computer and I'll see you at the beginning of next week.

Be good!

Lentil Sloopy Joes a la Michele

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, chopped fine
1 small red bell pepper, diced (optional)
1 stalk celery, chopped fine (if you don't use a pepper, then use 2 or 3 stalks of celery)
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon (or to taste) chili powder
dash of red pepper flakes or hot pepper sauce to taste
1? cups dried brown or green lentils, picked over and rinsed
1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
3 cups water
2 tablespoons soy sauce (I used tamari)
1 tablespoon prepared mustard (I used Dijon)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat; add the onion, bell pepper, celery, garlic, and sauté until softened and translucent. (If you want, you can just skip this part and throw everything directly into the crockpot, but I prefer to sauté it first -- I think it adds more flavor )

Add chili powder, stirring to coat. If using red pepper flakes, add them now.

Transfer mixture to a slow cooker; add in the lentils, tomatoes, water, soy sauce, mustard, brown sugar, salt, and pepper; stir to combine. If using hot pepper sauce, add it now.

Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.

If it seems like there’s too much liquid towards the end of the cooking time, set it to high and put the lid slightly ajar. This will help to thicken it up.

Serve sloppy joe style on buns, or toss with your favorite pasta, or just eat it in a big ol' bowl like Michele.

I'm back -- well fed and caffeinated and ready to rock 'n' roll!

I stopped at Tim Horton's for a donut after my blood work. http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/coffeebagels.gif

I did CCV1 last night. I picked it because it's the shortest and least strenuous, and I felt I could handle it with my cough. It's a good workout for when you're short on time. I guess you get as much out of it as you put into it. It looks like me, and possibly Jennifer, were the only ones who did cardio yesterday http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/crazy.gif

AUGUST -- WOO HOO!! http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/highfive.gif http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/cheerleader.gif http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/geekdance.gif http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/icon_bumdance-nerd.gif

So do you have a little extra time to play now that your work is done!? When are you leaving? When will you be back? We always miss you when you're gone, but we promise to keep the home fires burning ;) :*

Yes, yes, I have tried a weight vest -- way back when I had a personal trainer! She made me wear it for things like lunges, squats, step-ups (what Cathe calls a leg press), etc. I know some people who wear them to run bleachers at the high school stadium http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/heat.gif

I bought it for STS, but also to wear while doing my Leslie Sansone workouts http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/aggressive.gif

I still have the cough and it's driving me up the wall! My past experience tells me that I'll have it for several weeks -- that's pretty much how it always goes. ;(

Oh yes please -- if you think about it, and please don't go out of your way -- but I'd love to know specifically which mouse they like the best :D

ROBIN -- Yeah -- I could've waited until daylight to watch DWTS, but I couldn't get to sleep last night and, well, it's pretty hard to find ways to entertain yourself at 2 AM -- LMAO!! Priscilla Presley is pretty good, but Kristi Yamagucci (sp?) is spectacular!! I may have to add this show to my weekly program lineup :D

I miss several of the OALers, too. I have a very hard time keeping up with that thread any more, though. It's always so long, and there are so many new people posting there now that I don't even feel like I know half of them. Haterville is my first priority ;) , and I've been trying to keep up with other friends by posting in random threads. I'll pop into the OAL thread from time to time. Please give them a big :* and http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/grouphugg.gif for me, would ya!?

JENNIFER -- WOO HOO for your friend, Michele!! http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/highfive.gif . She's so lucky to have you on her side.

It rained all night last night. It was one of those lovely kind of storms that's supposed to help you sleep...but it didn't help me last night x(

DANA -- That DH of yours better give you a little time and space for yourself or I'm coming over there and THEN he'll be sorry http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/angry.gif . I will give him kudos for going with you to the ball game.

Good for you for sticking to your guns and walking on your lunch break!

Alrighty, I'm going to watch the last episode of DWTS now :D . Maybe by then I'll feel like doing some work around here. I have to say -- I'm pretty tired. I haven't slept well in 2 days now. UGH! I'll BBL :*

P.S. Jen -- WTH are you!?

P.P.S. The recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of dried lentils -- but you can use more if you want. I've seen recipes that call for 2 cups, but then you might need to add more liquid.

Hey Augie -- I watched DWTS on the internet. You can watch entire episodes right online!

OH! I have two questions for Shannon since I plan to make the Pumpkin Pinto bean crock pot recipe next!

SHANNON - About these two things :

4 c cubed, peeled pumpkin (about 1 lb, in 1/2 inch cubes)
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained

If I don't peel the pumpkin (not because I'm lazy, LOL, but the rind of Japanese pumpkins are absolutely delicious), will anything change?

And for the can of diced tomatoes with green chillies -- I couldn't find it. So I got a can of diced tomatoes and a bottle of green chillies LOL. How much green chillies do you suppose I should put in? And do I chop them up or what?

MICHELE - You're back! Yay! And you had a donut at Tim Horton's! YAY!

OMG, LMAO at this : http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/crazy.gif

>When are you leaving?

My flight is at 4:30pm, but I have a meeting at 1pm that I have to lug my roller bag suitcase to urgh. So I'll leave around 12:30pm and hop in a taxi.

>When will you be back?

Sunday evening around 7pm for leftover SLOOP at my place!

>We always miss you when you're gone, but we promise to keep the home fires burning

I'm looking forward to reading up!

>Yes, yes, I have tried a weight vest -- way back when I had a personal trainer! She made me wear it for things like lunges, squats, step-ups (what Cathe calls a leg press), etc. I know some people who wear them to run bleachers at the high school stadium

Oh Gawd. Lunges and squats. Step-ups. Run. High school. All sorts of evil words in that sentence LOL.

>I still have the cough and it's driving me up the wall! My past experience tells me that I'll have it for several weeks -- that's pretty much how it always goes.

Urgh. I hate those lingering coughs. Drink lots!

>computer mouse.......I'd love to know specifically which mouse they like the best

Okay, I'll be happy to find out. Give me a week or so...my and my partner's crazy deadlines go for another week (my hard part is over but my partner's is still in the middle). Then I'll be able to get more details. In fact, I think I'll be meeting with a few engineers next week, so I'll take a better look at the model!

>It was one of those lovely kind of storms that's supposed to help you sleep...but it didn't help me last night

LOL. I hope you get some good sleep tonight!

>I've seen recipes that call for 2 cups, but then you might need to add more liquid.

Water report : Come to think of it, when mind was ready, I opened the lid and saw that the top of just a bit of the Sloop was darker brown than the rest. I suppose if I'd let it sit on warm any longer it would have burned a bit, but I mixed it and it was totally fine.

Okay, I suppose I should try to get into bed now. I don't feel so sleepy but maybe Oogi can help me out.

Night night!

ETA : Come to think of it, I totally messed up the water on my Sloopies, remember? I put two cans of water rather than 3 cups LOL, and then I tried to take some out. So I have no idea how much water I really used. :*

AND ETA : Oh yeah, I totally did NOTHING tonight but play with the monsters! It was great! Yay for freedom! :D

Hello Haters.

Trying to find the energy to CF, but I can't find it anywhere. It's snowning pretty hard outside. If I can do BMX2, DM, LIC, Double Cardio-4DS this week, I SHOULD be able to finish off with CF.
Sat AM is ACS2.

My friend, Michele, already understands how good Cathe is. She knows if she does Cathe's DVDs she can do most anyones. Question came up between Gin Miller and Cathe. Cathe won.

Thank GOD, it's almost Friday.

I'm here, I'm here... sorry AGAIN I've been MIA. Work has just been so busy, then I come home, workout, sweep the house, fix dinner, eat with Chad, check work e-mails & reply to them, then pay a little attention to Chad then to bed. Doesn't leave me much time during the week anymore, I'm sorry. x(

Last night w/o- 4DS All Upper body premix- 67 min I think, I liked it
Tonight- KM w/u & Blast Challenge, then all of B&G minus the w/u

I needed a good w/o tonight - tomorrow is my day off this week then plan to do Drill Max Saturday & either Powerstrike or Tony's Cardio Intervals & Plyo Legs Sunday... actually that sounds really good right now but we'll see come Sunday, LOL!

August- You'll be missed while you are gone, please take your computer. Safe travel vibes coming to you.

Michele- How are you feeling? Did you get a w/o in today? It is storming & raining here tonight- thundering a lot right now actually. Let us know how you like the weight vest...

Dana- That is good that DH went with you last night... oh crap... lights just flickered, need to hurry this up!

Jennifer- Did you find CF? What w/o did you end up doing? High fives to your friend, that is great that you have motivated her to work out! Any updates on the guy situation??

Robin- Glad to have you back, although you probably can't say the same, LOL!

Okay, well I'm going to post before I lose this, I may BBL if anyone is around.

Hello Haters.

Just a quick note.

Yes, I did CF tonight. Not 100% but I did roughly 87-90%t of it.

Just got some bad news, one of our family's friends died yesterday. We skied with them at Boyne Mountain and Thunder, our Dads were collegues in medicine. I might be in Detroit next weekend for the funeral. Beth Ann was only 47 and died from pneuomonia.

No new men in my life.

Michele is going strong. She was supposed to workout tonight but wouldn't blame her if she took it easy.

Sat am it's ACS2.

And, we have snow. Lots of it.

Hi everybody~

OMG I am so sick -- I've been kneeling before the throne all night ;(

If I'm not around tomorrow (today), you'll know why. Sorry for the lack of personals for Jen and Jennifer -- I just can't manage it right now. Good health vibes and prayers would be greatly appreciated ;(
