LOL.

I'm back! Yay. When I walked in my front door, the lingering smell of Beans and Barley (aka Glue Surprise) was still...er, lingering.

So today was......CARDIO! Low Impact Step, rah rah! http://bestsmileys.com/cheering/6.gif

I got myself all ready and cued up the DVD and started working out and it wasn't soooo bad, and I was actually kind of enjoying myself, when the doorbell rang. It was my litter delivery. I paused the DVD and got my litter and came back and I was SO stoked to find that the time on the DVD said it was at 37 or so minutes,...and, knowing this workout is only about 40 minutes long, meant that I only had a few more minutes left of the workout!

I was so shocked and happy! Wow, that workout BLEW by! Why do I always make a deal with cardio? I can do this! This totally FLEW!

And then to my shock, I realized that the actual workout started at the 30 minute mark, which meant that I'd actually only done about ten minutes of it LMAO.

So then the next 30 minutes of it were excruciating. LMAO.

But I did it in its entirety and well, it really wasn't that bad at all.

DANA - Hey, that's great news about needing to buy a heavier dumbbell. Well, great news in the muscle factor section, and not great news in the having to buy another thing section. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about my weights and STS. I'm thinking I might need to buy weighted gloves.

Safe places in an earthquake? Hmm. I sure hope so. I thought for sure all the squirrels would run around in amazement at the earthquake, but just Lulu lifted her head like, "Wha? Wha?" and then went back to sleep. I think the only one who couldn't get back to sleep was me.

Yikes, you pulled a muscle in your calf? Is this in the calf of the knee leg?

Good Morning Haters.

Glad to see you're back, August. I did read the article on the earthquake, it didn't get mentioned on the news here. Do they happen often?

Cats can sense quakes, storms,etc..

Grand Rapids had a been tremor about 20 years ago that shook things up from Grand Haven. The fault line is about 20 miles away in Ionia and follows M-66, a continuation of the old "route 66." I was driving over an overpass and my car hopped around a bit, lost my radio station.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. A few people in charge are gone for this week so I will have only 4 days with them next week cause I have Good Friday Off. :) :) :) :)

Need to do strength training this week since it's been mainly cardio. Although, I have the need to do BM2 again. Viewed Amy Bento's ACS2 and still lost.

August - Eeek. Sorry to hear you had bad luck with the crockpot! What happened with your beans and barley? Glue, you say? Ugh! I ate only from the crockpot this weekend, and it was lovely. I made that Pinto Bean and Pumpkin chili, Lentil Barley soup, and my own concoction of leftover ingredients. Since it's only me here, I had lots of leftovers, which I froze and will eat throughout the week. Yum!

Hi to everyone else - hopefully I'll be able to drop by later and see what you all are up to.
 
Good morning!!

I'll be soooo excited to get my car back today! I'm so sick of being cooped up in this house! Of course, after I pay the mechanic I probably won't have enough money left over to fill the gas tank :p

And I'm more than ready for the snow to melt! It's all the way up to our windows and all that white is giving me a headache ;(

I didn't do a single workout over the weekend. Come to think of it, I didn't do anything over the weekend. Quite honestly, I had trouble keeping my eyes open and I took BIG naps both Saturday and Sunday. The head cold I've been battling for weeks has moved into my chest and every time I take a breath I cough, so I probably won't do a workout today, either, and I was really looking forward to trying Cardioke...well...as much as I can look forward to any cardio workout :p

AUGUST -- I propose we stop posting new threads on Sunday and let the Saturday thread serve as the "weekend" thread. I don't post much on the weekends because that's when my DH is home. We see so little of each other through the week that I like to devote my weekends to him/us. You're usually working on weekends, too, and Dana is rarely around. Jennifer seems to be the official thread keeper on weekends (thank you Jennifer!).

^^^5's for completing a step workout! I do not even remember the last time I did a step workout. My step is for kitty now -- he uses it to look out of the 2nd story window :p . I don't even use it as a weight bench anymore since I bought a real one. I use the high step for leg presses and that's about it.

WTH is Fiesta Fitness -- LMAO!

JENNIFER -- WOO HOO -- a short work week! So which weight workout are you planning to do? I want to bump up my wieght workouts, too, to get ready for STS. I haven't done a weight workout in several weeks. this whole business with my niece completely derailed my workout schedule and now I'm having a terrible time getting back into it. ;(

CUZ!! -- It makes me so happy when you post in Hatertown :D . You know you're MORE than welcome. Hating really is not a requirement and I'm pretty sure Jen and Jennifer love their cardio :eek:

So what kind of barley do you use in your crockpot? the recipe that August made specifically stated that pearled barley should NOT be used but it doesn't tell you which type TO use. My store only carries the pearled. And I'm intrigued by your pinto bean and pumpkin chili but I can't find pumpkins now x( . I know you can use a different squash, but I really wanted to try it with pumpkin :-(

So what workouts did you do over the weekend?

DANA -- Yes, that IS great news about needing heavier dumbbells! I think...I HOPE I have enough dumbbells for STS. I think I do, but I might need some more plates for my barbell. At some point I'll want the pull up bar but I'm not going to worry about that for awhile.

ROBIN -- So the countdown is on! How long will you be gone on yur vacation? Boo Hoo -- I'm really going to miss you! How's your leg today? I've been worried about 'cha ;)

JEN -- How was your lunch with your mom and your sister? Did you end up doing another workout?

Alrighty -- I'm off to scale Mt. Washmore and do a few chores around here. Hopefully my car will be ready soon and I need to find someone to take me to pick it up ;( . I'll BBL :*

ETA OMG I have 41 emails that have accumulated over the weekend -- FORTY-ONE!! ;( . Do you guys see why I often don't reply to email? Oh man, I can't keep up with all of this! ;(
 
Hey Cuz - thanks for the warm fuzzy welcome! We had snow on Friday... all of about 1 inch! LOL! And it's gone, and yesterday was sunny and 60 degrees! I'm sorry you have to deal with all that icky snow. It's time for it to start melting!

I use hulled barley whenever I use barley. I refuse to buy the pearled stuff. It seems kind of like buying white rice instead of brown, you know? I go to Whole Foods to get my barley. Probably any health food-type store would have it. My grocery store only carries the pearled stuff too.

As for the pumpkin-pinto chili... well, I actually used butternut squash instead of pumpkin, and it was fantastic. So go ahead - give it a try!

Maybe it will make you feel better. I sure hope you get over this cold thing soon! Take care!
 
Hello Haters.

Monday is over, Thank GOD. I got questioned by an auditor today. The first time in about 20 years. The questions were intriquing, to say the least. In time, I might be able to discuss it.

My workouts for the weekend were: IMAX2 on Saturday and 4DS Double Cardio on Sunday before church.

All this talk about food is making me hungry.

Weight workouts might be MM or 4DS all weighted premix. My short work week is next week.
