HATE - July 26

August

Cathlete
I just wanted to tell you all that I think you might be posting in the wrong thread. This is the August Kitty Forum, just in case you're confused. http://bestsmileys.com/lol/1.gif

Helllllllo! http://planetsmilies.net/skipping-smiley-1908.gif

I just finished arms and abs with Tamilee. Cham and Mooch watched me up close (right at my feet LOL) for about a minute, and then they got bored and were like, "C'mon, let's go under the bed and nap. She's doing her weird thing again."

Now I've got to tend to Oogi (my Nintendo DS Lite Animal Crossing character, for Jennifer who doesn't know, I think). If Oogi doesn't catch a tarantula by the end of next month, she's not going to be able to get her golden bug net, and that would be disastrous, as she would have to wait until next July to catch one again.

DANA -

>Did you think that they were going to stay and shower?????? LOL

LMAO. I know! I scrubbed my whole bathroom, they were here for three hours and neither one of them even peed!! The nerve! After all that cleaning I did! LOL.

>We have the a/c on for Ralphie 24/7.

OMG, that is totally cute. How luxurious for Ralphie!

>I know that there seems like a lot of negatives with this breed but if you met an EB you'd overlook all that b/c you'd fall instantly in love. I'm serious.

I've always LOVED English Bulldogs, and actually after reading your list of all the things about EBs, I love them more! Lots of the list kind of makes it sound like it's a cat in a dog's body!

JEN -

>I used the velcro & poor fatty the last time she ever got on that thing was when it came un-velcrod & she fell to the floor!

Oh, fatttttty!! Poor thing! Though imagining it happening is kinda cute LOL. Yeah, after I posted here about the velcro, I went onto Amazon.com and took a look there and found that the window perches are either velcro or screw. Most people who were using just the velcro pretty much said what you did. "aaah, cozy and cozy and.........AGH!!!"

Mooch and Cham's daddy is a big ol'chubby black cat, so I guess it won't be long before at least Mooch is, too. He's definitely bigger than Cham is right now (their mommy is "average" size) and he always wins the wrestling match. I guess that's why Cham sometimes likes to veg out on the narrow window sill since ain't no way Mooch can wedge himself up there LOL.

Okay, it's been a pretty long time since you ate actual food. Are you trying to get in some fresh produce somewhere in there? Please say you are.

MICHELE - $560!! OMG! That sucks! Do you know how many workout DVDs you could buy with that? Or how many cat toys?

Not many LOL.

But it's much cheaper than a new garage roof, I bet.

>I'm a house Frau at the moment and if it weren't for the great benefits I'd probably quit -- LMAO!!

LMAO. You nut!

The King and Queen have a glorious Cat Castle that goes to almost the ceiling. It's got lots of perches and a cubby and scratching posts, and is right in front of my balcony window at the foot of my bed (which has become their springboard when flying down for a landing LOL).

Though it isn't right up to the glass and I have to keep the lace curtain down so as not to be seen by my neighbors or Sweet Potato Man. I wonder if I should try out the velcro one and see how it is...though the thought of it coming crashing down (although kinda cute) is kind of.....hmm...I'd sure hate to buy it for the imported price it is (more than twice that of the States) only to have Cham sit in it and come crashing down.

Wait. I'm taking a look at my window sill for the first time LMAO.

JEN AGAIN - How does the velcro work? Is it a big ol' sticky thing that you smear on your window sill? Does it come off easily? My window sill is very narrow and has a little less than an inch of metal and about an inch of wood. Is that even enough space? Maybe I should look into buying a little pedastal thingy where she can hop up and sit on...

JENNIFER - Did you survive your He!! day at work? Was there a particular event to spur you to Hate?

All right. I'm off to Nintendo World. Have a good one!

Oh, I'll be away all weekend again. So don't write anything funny or worth reading. :p

Hello Fellow Haters.

Yes, I survived my day at work. Hoping today is a better one. Another Dept. supervisor admitted her person made the mistake, but the CEO managed a way to blame me for it. No money loss, circumstances prevailed in our favour. I called my immediate supervisor, who is at another location, to tell her about it. She called me last night to see if I was OK.

Seville and Madrid have no castle, they just jump from the counter to the top of my kitchen cabinets and hide there all day. I have seen those castles, they're cool.

What do you feed your kitties? Mine are on Science Diet indoor living-dry only.

Have a Great Day!!

Good morning everyone!!

I think the August Kitty forum is much more pleasant than recent doggie related threads;). I am seriously growing weary of the OD forum;(. I think a return to my previous policy of not clicking on animal related threads is in order, something that's hard to do when they're disguised as a topic about Home Depotx( . For me, Hatertown has it all sewn up;)

August, the Cat Castle sounds awesome. I'm sure your kitties love it! My kitty doesn't have such luxuries - lol! He likes to hang out on my high step and look out the 2nd story window. There's little kitty spittle marks on the window where he looks out -- LMAO! He also likes to perch on top of the refrigerator. It always freaks me out to find him up there. He likes the pantry, too, and I have a box on the floor in there where he naps :+

I'm so happy for news of Oogi! Maybe she needs a special trap to catch the spider. I would hate for her to not get that golden net -- LMAO!

MY BIL and SIL arrived last night from Pittsburgh and are staying with DH's parents. We're going over there as soon as DH gets home from work. This will be our only chance to visit with them because GUESS WHAT!? They're leaving first thing Friday morning for the...the...MMGHH :7

If you saw my post last night then you read about my tree limb. I need to sign off here because the tree service should be here any minute. They're also removing a huge arborvitae and a few lilacs that are impeding the outdoor component of our AC. The Arborvitae is actually too close to our house and needs to go. They're going to replace it with hybrid Witchhazel shrubs.

I'll check back later to see who pops in. Dana, Jen, Shelley, Robin, Diane, Jennifer, Becky, Jana, and anyone I may have missed -- hello to you and I'll see y'all later:* :*

ETA Hi Jennifer!! I'm sorry about your CEO trying to blame you for someone else's mistakex(. That really sucks! It sounds like your immediate supervisor is pretty nice, though. I hope things go better fo you today and maybe the CEO will, hopefully, apologize to you for being a jerk.

Your kitties sound like my Johnny :+

Good morning Haters!!

Hi August, Jennifer , Michele and ALL OTHER HATERS!!!}(

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a very nice day! It's been a fun week (25th wedding anniversary and birthday), with lot's of good food. I still feel sluggish from the cake and ice cream yesterday, but it was worth it !:9 :9

I'm so behind here. I'm sorry.......I was on vacation and now had a wild week, but now it's pretty much back to normal .

Today I am taking my DD around trying to find her a job! She is not very motivated so it's not exactly FUN. hahah;-)

My MIL is improving and her PT ends this week. Then she is going to see if someone from social services or wherever will clear her to move back home !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her decision, but I am selfishly hoping they give her the A-OK !!!!:7 :p

This morning's workout was MIS Upperbody & abs.
I was going to add on some cardio, but I'm really dragging today. It's very dreary outside......foggy and dark and I am fighting not just grabbing my book and heading back to bed !!!

Oohhh........DH and I went to see Harry Potter on our anniversary. I don't know if there are any fans here, but it was really good !

Michele , I saw that somehow you hurt your elbow. Ouch! How did you do it ?? Is it feeling better?

Time to shower and get this party started!!
I hope everyone has a good day.
Is it FRIDAY yet?????
Becky

Hey ya'll!!! Actually, hey you's b/c I'm not from the south so I shouldn't be saying ya'll.

August - I would love to see your apartment right now. If it is as small as you say, where the heck are you cramming in all this stuff and finding a workout area??? My brother rents this teeny-tiny efficiency apartment and I have no clue where he stores anything. At least your guys don't walk all over you when your workout. I haven't even shown Ralphie the basement and we've had him since April/May??? Our basement isn't finished so it is a bit dusty and since he is white (well what's left of his fur) and I'm sure he'd get so dirty. But, I can envision him just laying on the mini-trampoline just hanging out. LOL So is mom watching the squirrels this weekend? Does she take them to her apartment? Many times I think that my Ralphie does act like a cat. OMG it is too funny b/c he pounces something like a cat does and sometimes he will bat around a toy.

Michele - so your not going back to the cabin with the damily? Are you doing anything for the one day that they'll be staying with you? I rarely ever post on the OD. I have read the dog topics and think that Vick should be hung by his b#$@s and have done to him what those innocent dogs had done to them. But I don't think that boycotting HD is going to have any impact whatsoever on the situation. And from my perspective, my DH is a self-employed mason and if HD has the cheaper prices for something he needs for his business, he is going to buy it from them regardless of the situation. As a matter of fact, I know that my DH isn't up to what is going on in the news as I"m sure that about 90% or more of other contractors don't either. But, enough of that!!!

Jen - that is too funny about your poor cat falling down. I would've loved to see it. It is funny but I"m sure that your kitty didn't think it was.

Jennifer - I'm glad that your boss called to check on you. It sucks when you have to take the heat for something you didn't even screw up!!! Did you have a chance to plant your lillies of the valleys? I love them, they smell so good. My mom used to have a lot of them in her gardens. Just be careful of your kitties (you keep them inside don't you?) b/c they are poisonous. I weeded my flowerbed last night and had to rearrange my rock border ONCE AGAIN. My litle one (who is almost 2) is constantly taking the rocks and throwing them elsewhere. (like in the swimming pool).

Shelley - I was thinking of you this morning on my way to work. What is the lead singer of Tool's name? Some guy called into the radio station this morning to say his son was being born today and if I'm not mistaken, they were naming it something James. Then they were playing some lullaby by Tool while they were announcing sports and then, get this, they moved right onto NICKLEBACK!!!!! Couldn't get anymore Shelley then that!!!! Ha!

Hey Beck!!! So what type of jobs will you be taking your DD to apply for? Have fun with that. LOL. I have never seen or read any of the Harry Potter stuff but I believe that our Shelley is a fan.

I didn't workout last night. I weeded the flowerbed, took Ralphie for a walk, did laundry, washed dishes, etc. I need to get myself in some sort of routine. I dropped Ralphie off at the vet this morning for his 2nd dip. That is 25 miles from work so I"ll be getting home later then normal tonight.

Hi Robin and Diane and everyone else!!!

Well, I better get going. I haven't gotten anything accomplished in the hour that I've been here. If I don't have time to check back in later, have a great weekend all!!! I'm off tomorrow! YIPPEE!!!

Hey girls... I'm in a foul mood today. I have PMS and work is driving me crazy.

Dana - the lead singer of Tool is Maynard James Keenan. I can't imagine why anyone would want to name their kid Maynard:p

And yes, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I was a bit disappointed in the movie, to be honest. But the book that just came out was fantastic.

I'm tired and cranky and sick so I'm just going to go off and mutter to myself.

Howdy Haters. I'm soooo out of touch with you guys, but I'm thinking about you. My vacation is going relatively well. I haven't had as much beach time as I'd wish due to weather and family "stuff" but the time I've had there has been nice and relaxing. We head to NC and our friends house this afternoon. I'm really looking forward to it. I love the damily, but, you know, they're damily. Need I say more. I sort of speed read all of the above, but don't have any time for personals, except, of course, a hug for the PMS monster. Oh yeah, my niece and I went to Target the other evening and they had BIG RED BALLS in front of the store. And I forgot my camera!!!! Gotta go. Miss you all.

Oh, I did Step Blast yesterday and took a nice long walk on the beach. No workout today. I'm only taking running stuff to NC.

"See" you in a couple days. I doubt if I'll be on line over the weekend.

Shelley - the name is Keenan James. That sounds nice.

Robin - Hey!!!! Have you gone to pick berries at Ralph Styer Farm in Muncy? The place that Gabe and I were going to go to tomorrow (in Berwick) had their last picking YESTERDAY!!! A walk on the beach sounds WONDERFUL!!!!! I need a vaction :(

OK, better get back to work.

I'm back from hanging at Mom's. The squirrels had a special day and were allowed to research Mom's bathroom for the first time. Needless to say, they were in awe. And it's really cute watching 4 squirrels sniffing half cautiously, half excitedly around together like that.

JENNIFER - Glad you survived your day, and glad to hear that everything that needed smoothing out got smooth.

I feed my squirrels Innova Evo wet and dry, and I also give them some Solid Gold Katz & Flocken dry from time to time. My guys are indoor only, too. Actually, my vet recommends Science Diet (after I'd decided to go with Evo and they really like it, so I figure I'll stick with it).

MICHELE - Hey, you shouldn't be writing such long posts, young woman. You have Wii Elbow. I have not looked at the OD for AGES. There's a lot of dog stuff going on? You know me. I hate to read anything bad about animals in any way or form. I totally gave up clicking on any threads that looked remotely having to do with animals.

Oh sure, I have a great Cat Castle, but do they use it? No. Well, they do scratch it sometimes and they do run up it when they're spazzing out, but, well, Cham is under the bed and Mooch is on my Step as I type LOL.

>There's little kitty spittle marks on the window where he looks out -- LMAO!

OMG. That is TOTALLY cute!!!!!!!!

Have a fun time with the In-laws, and good luck with the tree limb!

BECKY - I'm glad to hear your MIL is doing better. She must be eager to go home, too...What kind of job will your DD be looking for? I'm sorry, but was it you who had said that she had sent out lots of resumes and nothing really turned up? That must be so frustrating. I'll wish you both the best of luck for something really cool!

DANA -

>I can envision him just laying on the mini-trampoline just hanging out. LOL

OH, that is also so TOTALLY cute!!!!!! Ralphie and his white (the stuff that's left...LOL) fur! I so want to give him a belly rub! And play with cat toys with him! Oh what a cutie he must be!

Yeah, I bring my squirrels to her apartment and they go nuts having fun with their other brother and sister. It's so cute because I've been using the same soft bag (it's actually just a summer bag I've had for years and years) to take them up and down the stairs to Mom's, and they totally know the bag now. All I have to do is take it out, put it on the floor, open it up and they get in for the ride without me doing a thing!

My apartment is small. I mean, it's ample, especially since I live alone, and considering I'm living in Tokyo and all. The magic secret is that I love to throw things away. I think we must have talked about that during Diane's (and our)....oh gosh, I forgot the name....the Cleaning Stage. Anyway, clutter bums me out, so I'm always throwing stuff away. Or giving it to my brother LOL.

SHELLEY - I know what your PMS means. It means that I'm going to be having PMS shortly LOL. I hope nobody will piss us off this weekend.

ROBIN - Hi! Oh, it's great of you to pop by, even though we all know you shouldn't be LOL! I'm glad things are going well. Well, less beach time will mean less skin damage. Heh.

>I love the damily, but, you know, they're damily.

LOL. I always feel relieved to read someone write something like that.

I'm not going to ask about the big red balls.

All right. I'm going to wash up for bed.

Laters! :* :*

August, My DD is just 16 , so the jobs she is applying for is mainly fast food, grocery stores, the movie theaters....stuff like that. Yes, (you have a good memory) I wrote before about her not being able to find anything. All of her friends are having trouble too. I'm not sure why!

I love your kitty stories!
My cat Cleo is such a SNOT! When I was gone on vacation, my parents watched her. She really only likes me and I'm not sure it's all that much, but she knows I am the one who feeds her.....ha, but anyway, she eventually warmed up to mom & dad and even let them pick her up a few times and pet her and of course she bossed them around like she does me...and when I got home, they came over to see her and she ran away as soon as she saw them! Acted like they were complete strangers!! Naughty cat !:p I think it really hurt my dad's feelings, but I assured him that she does the same thing to me!

I am getting exactly NOTHING done today! It's dreary and dark out ......looks like rain any minute and I just can't get myself motivated ! :-(

Shelley, what didn't you like about the movie??
Hope you feel better soon!
August, I was thinking the same thing......uh ohhhhhh Shelley has it now, that means I'm next !!!;( :-(

Okay, I'm off.....
bbl
Becky

Becky - I found it disappointing compared to the book. They left so much out and had to change so much to fit it all in.

BECKY -

> (you have a good memory)

This is like the nicest compliment for me because I truly have the worst memory available LOL. Thank you!

Urgh, I remember being in high school and some years there just weren't any jobs around. I hope you guys will be able to find something really cool and something that she enjoys and feels good about. Or at least something that will allow her to get some great freebies or discounts LOL!

>She really only likes me and I'm not sure it's all that much

LMAO!

>I think it really hurt my dad's feelings, but I assured him that she does the same thing to me!

OMG, totally LMAO!

I totally know how that feels! Your poor parents!! You think you've made a break through and you're feeling all good and then....waaaaa!

Hi, Shelley!

LMAO. I had to put double-sided tape on the sides of the container that Mr. Plant sits in because Mooch was really interested to play with his long leaves,...and I just filmed about five minutes of Mooch putting his paw on the tape, shaking it off. Putting his paw on the tape, shaking it off. Putting his paw on the tape, shaking it off. Biting the tape, shaking his head. Waiting........Putting his paw on the tape, shaking it off. Putting his paw on the tape........LMAO! All the while you can hear the sound of his paw sticking to the tape as he peels it off!

Oh Shelley,
I'm sure that's true. I've found that in some of the others. But this is the first time I saw the movie BEFORE I read the book.
I bet that made the difference.
As much as I've enjoyed the movies, I like the books more!;-)

Hey haters, did B&G tonight along with the original buns of steel outer thigh work. I am noticing a nice change in my legs/glutes/outer thigh area with using buns of steel a couple times a week & doing B&G as is (not a premix) once a week. My thighs are looking slimmer & my butt is tigher & perky!

August- The velcro is sticky on one side so you put one on the window sill & one on the bottom of the perch then the velcro is on the opposite side. Did you end up buying one already? I can't remember. I know, I know... I need to eat more real food but it just doesn't sound good. I am eating some salad and lots of apples & strawberries so getting some good nutrients in there & I take a daily vitamin and fish oil & omega 3 along with about 10 other things!

Dana- Yes it was hysterical watching her fall, she was such a good cat. I miss her so much. I have her ashes on my dresser in the bedroom with a picture of her about a month before she died & one when she was 8 weeks old when I brought her home. I love Storm & Sport to pieces but there will never be another CJ, I am just blessed that I got to spend 10 years with her. How is Ralphie? Sounds like you have fallen in love with him, aren't you so glad you got him? It's amazing how animals can just brighten your whole world.

Shelley, Michele, Robin, Becky, Jennifer- Hope you all had wonderful days.

It was a tough day at work today, the shut down the whole subprime division in wholesale so lots of people lost their jobs today including the guy that sat right next to me. I feel awful for him. It is a tough time in the mortgage business right now.
