Ack, Jen, I'm so sorry I missed that you started the thread yesterday! I apologize!

JEN - Glad to hear your hair is all done and you're feeling good. Man, everyone is getting their hair done these days. Maybe I should do mine soon, too.

Hey now, hey now, I never lied about anything...well, that's a lie. But when I do lie about something, I'll lie about it and then immediately confess that I've lied. I spoke nothing but the truth about the little guys. They didn't get here until about a week and a half ago, so when you asked me, I didn't yet have them.

My black boy is Mooch, and my tortoiseshell girl is Cham. Their other bro and sis are the same coloring. They are now 9.5 weeks and very playful. In fact, that's really all they do : Play. Eat. Sleep. Avoid my lap. Use my litter LOL.

SHELLEY - Yeah, I'm so relieved they all get along so well since Mom has to babysit them all when I'm out of town on weekends. I hate leaving my apartment even more now though LOL.

I'm also a major list person. I often make my list and take my list to the shopping place only to find that the place doesn't have what I need and then I can't cross it off my list and I have to take my list home, in order to condense it with several other half-done lists I have in my room.

Geez, that is a very weird day when one finds money has been stolen from their account! Does that mean that someone you know took it? Urgh! That would not be a good discovery. Is there something you can do about it?

DIANE - I hope you're right about them turning into lap cats. That would be really nice.

Although I accept that cats have their own personalities and that they might never want to sit on my lap. And that is cool with me because I respect each individual creature, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

So.....HOW LONG DID IT TAKE FOR YOUR KITTENS TO BECOME LAP ONES AND WHAT DID YOU DO TO MAKE IT HAPPEN? LMAO.

Yeah, Mooch and Cham had their first shots last Friday and when they got home Mooch was P-O'd. Other than that one time, everyone gets along fantastically. Do your guys sleep all over the house now? When you took them in, how old were they and did they stay in one room with no place to hide? Do you brush their teeth? Baths? LOL.

Cham's favorite nap spot is now the litter box hood. Mooch prefers my step. Which I'm glad about because it means that at least someone is using it LOL.

MICHELE - That's great to hear that your sister is doing well on the program she started.....Mmm, yum, yum, more breakfast!! I love going out for breakfast. I never go out for breakfast. Gawd, I love breakfast foods.


Okay. I'm doing nothing. Nothing but playing with Mooch and Cham. I have no work and am being a massive lazy bun. It ROCKS.

Urgh. Tomorrow I have to work. And then I'll be out of town all weekend. Oh my little squirrels...I miss them just going out to get groceries for an hour :) .

P.S. Hey, over the rabbit icon up above, do you guys see anything? There are some Japanese characters and I wonder if they came out as characters or blurby things?

The characters, by the way, spell out, "Aya-she" which in Japanese means, "Sounds suspicious."

Morning August - I see the characters over the top of the rabbit.

Actually, it was a stranger who stole the money from my account. Sometime in the past few months, someone must have stolen the information off the card (probably using some kind of card reader when I used the card) and then used a camera to watch me enter my PIN. Scary, huh?

Cats are cats and they'll do as they please, but since you've had them from teeny kittens, I bet they'll be lap cats. Especially since they're indoor cats. Cats usually take a while to warm up. Unlike dogs, who want nothing more than to be in your face all the time, being patted and loved and assured that you love them more than anything in the world and also in the hopes that perhaps you'll give them food. :p
 
Good morning August, Shelley, and all!

I've been wanting to type up a big ole post with personals but I can't right now. I haven't mentioned it, but I hurt myself playing a silly Wii game with my nephews when they were here and I really, REALLY hurt my elbow:-( . According to my typical MO, I've been ignoring it and just hoping it would, you know, GO AWAY -- LMAO! As you might expect, it's only gotten worse so DH is making me wear a brace. If this doesn't take care of it I'll probably have to start steroidsx( All this to say that typing up big posts really hurts :eek: x( . I've read everything and I'll try to do personals a little later on.

Oh yeah, I'm going to the MMGHH tomorrow as soon as DH gets home from work -- poopy!:p :7

8 weeks constitutes teeny? When they wake up they come running over to be pet and act very happy to see me, but when we're hanging out on the sofa together and I attempt to pet them, Cham especially will drag herself a few inches away just to get some space LOL. If I place them on my lap, they'll stay. For two seconds. LOL. Well, hopefully they're still in the warming up stage. But I love em like crazy. http://bestsmileys.com/love1/1.gif


That is TOTALLY scary about the stolen money from your account. Holy CREEPINESS! That is just incredible that someone could do that! Aren't accounts insured or something? OMG, I can't believe that!

I've got to take a shower, but I don't want to leave my little guys' side. No wonder they don't want to have anything to do with me LOL. I'm like a freekin leech. I've had boyfriends like that.

I think Mr. Plant might be jealous. Choco doesn't seem to care. LOL.

Okay. Shower. The little guys just went under the bed anyway.

Michele, don't be nervous about online banking. Your bank's site is safe. Just be real careful doing any kind of debit card transactions. Make sure you are meticulous about hiding your PIN when you enter it.

Ahhhh, I took my shower. With my shower door wide open. Just in case the squirrels wanted to see what was going on.

And to my delight,...they did!

They both came inside to see what all the noise was about. Mooch tried to jump up on the sink and Cham jumped onto the side of the bathtub, but then got a couple stray shower drops and quickly made an exit...but then came back to stand and watch a little.

August - I don't remember how long it too for them to become lap cats, maybe a couple weeks? They were 4 months old when we got them. We started the kittens out in a small room where there were not too many places to hide. Then we slowly introduced them to the rest of the house over a period of a few days. After a few days, we let them roam around freely when we were home, then had them sleep in the small room at night for about a week. I think we had read somewhere to do that.

They sort of ignored us when we finally let them roam freely. We would sometimes catch them and force them to be petted for a minute, but they hated that. Then one day Sydney just hopped on my lap while I was watching tv. And I think she went back and told Sadie that the laps were alright, and then Sadie came and hoped on my lap. Then after that it was all out snuggle all the time - and they snuggled with each other more after that too. It just took them a while to get comfortable.

Texas law firms just announced raises AGAIN! Looks like I am getting another huge raise just b/c market rates are going up. Too bad I am leaving! But should give us an extra $5-10k during the last few months and during my maternity leave, which will be nice.

Diane - I saw your pics from the other day and you look really great. Congrats on the raise!!!! That is a nice size raise too!

Shelley - sorry about your ordeal. Is your bank reimbursing you? Even though my Visa card is actually a debit card, lately I've been using it as a "credit" card so I don't have to put in my pin number. I don't know how some people can not have a conscience. One of the men in our office was rear-ended the other day on the interstate by a tractor trailer. It was early in the morning so there weren't any witnesses but his car was totally destroyed, his car spun in several cirles and the tractor trailer kept on going. How could someone just "ignore" that??? He could've been dead.

Michele - ewww, I wouldn't go in that water either. I know that your DH doesn't like you posting pictures but you NEED to take a picture of that cabin (inside & out) and the scenery so we can have the full effect. Tell DH that you won't include any personal pics. I just can't imagine being that bad. Maybe I'm just naive???? I just got 3 new cookbooks in the mail and I HATE one of them. It is called 150 best American recipes. Well, I"ve been an American for 32 years and I don't know any of these so called best american recipes. What a JOKE!!!!! I also got a grain cookbook and that looks pretty good, there is quite a bit of breakfast recipes and I also got Cooking Lite's Best and I think I"ll like that one.

August - well thank goodness for finally coming clean about the kitties. LOL You pretty much spilled the beans when you announced you bought all that kitty litter and had no kitties. I mean, do you really think that we are that dumb????? Oh and check out this site: www.onlynaturalpets.com This is where I"m going to order the stuff for Ralphie but they have stuff for cats too. All kinds of organic and natural products. I"m getting Ralphie the Immune Booster and also salmon oil. I tried to order it last night but my computer was acting all funky and it wouldn't work. I'm going to try again tonight. Ya know, when I"m out and about I sometimes see things that I think that so and so will like and I "saw" something that caught my "eye" and thought, OMG I have to get that for August. Maybe, just maybe, next time I'm where I was, I'll pick it up for ya. I hate to be all secretive and all but you're my idol and I"m trying to be just like you. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

I preordered on the first day and it looks like I made the right decision -- not because of the cardio, mind you, but because I'm gonna love the heavy weights.

Dana, what's the name of the grain cookbook? I was looking at one by King Arthur Flour and I might get it. So, what are some of these American recipes -- lol! I'll see if I can sneak in a picture or 2 for you but only if DH will permit it.

Shelley, trust me, after your ordeal I'll be extremely careful when entering my pin # in an ATM.

Hi Haters!!!!I'm back and all better! Yes, I've been sick with a terrible headache and nausea for the last 2 days. I just figured it out too. DH made decaf coffee the last 2-3 mornings and I was going through caffine withdrawal. He tried to kill me!!!! I'm on my second cup now and the improvement is amazing. I hope they all laugh at work tomarrow when I explain the reason they had to work short today.

August, I love the new series of stories starring Mooch and Cham. Is Cham short for something or mean something in Japanese? Mooch is pretty much self explanatory. Kittens don't sit still long enough to be lappers. Give them a few months (years?) They sound wonderful and make me almost (almost) want a kitten.

Michele, I hope the MMGHH helps heal your elbow. Hey, don't do any cleaning while you are there. Elbow grease will not help.

Shelley, sometimes I'm amazed at how hard people will work to get out of working for a living. Will the bank eventually cover your loss? I'm sure going to be a lot more careful about my PIN.

Diane, congratulations on the raise. I'm getting a 3% raise starting in Jan. which is more than I've gotten in years. I more excited about the extra 3 days of vacation they are giving employees of more than 15 years. I maxed out at 4 weeks of time off about 10 years ago and an extra 3 days makes me do the happy dance.

Dana, That's awful about your co-workers hit and run. How could someone do that?!!? I'm LOL at your "stupid" comment to August. I think she was just giving us hints and waiting for someone to come right out and say it. I'm sure you'll like the Cooking Light cookbook. I love the magazine and end up with piles of them all over the place. I should just buy the cookbook every year.

Jen, I know I had something to comment to you, but it has completely fled my mind. Maybe later.

Hello Everyone.

How are you all doing? My workouts have been scattered lately but now, at least, I'm doing them. No one in my family is being hosptialized for anything, which is a miracle in itself. My Dad goes back to Mayo for his first checkup post cancer and post transplant in mid-August.

Personally, I know I need to get in shape before the 4 Day Split is delivered, I preordered on the first day so this time I know the day will be sooner rather than later.
