HATE - July 15

August

Cathlete
Morning! http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/love/love0040.gif

Last night I ate a fresh mango sundae.

It was just a basic dish with cut up mango in it, a scoop of regular vanilla ice cream, a bunch of whipped cream (which I hate), almond slices (which I also dislike), and then more fresh mango on the top, all served on a fancy tray with fancy silverware.

When I went to pay my bill..........I nearly screamed.

It cost me about the same price as a kettle bell. I'm not kidding. That lame sundae cost me $30.

I was quite audible about it at the register. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/violent087.gif

One of the first things I thought was, "Wait until I write about this on Hatersville!"

LOL. I feel better now.

So this morning I woke up and called the store and talked to the guy in charge of exercise equipment to see about what kind of kettle bells they have http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/happy/happy0014.gif .

His answer? "What is a kettle bell?"

http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/indifferent/indifferent0012.gif

So now I'm waiting for a call back from the guy from who I bought my barbell, who will be in in the afternoon.....and then I'll be deciding on my kettle! Woo hoo! I cannot wait!

I did my 10 minutes of cardio and then an L&G premix. My butt feels good.

Did I mention that I'm totally excited about the KB DVD?

JENNIFER - Glad to hear your lawn is mowed. Was it fun doing it yourself? I haven't mowed a lawn since I was in high school (my parents' lawn). I think I only did it (or rather, was made to do it LOL) a couple times because I always made such a big huge fuss about having to do it.

DANA - Thankfully the next bunch of emails from Beacon were all nice. I have no idea why my emails were returned with such a message. I wrote to Beacon about it but they didn't respond to it so I guess they don't mind??

Sooooo, are we all going to be doing the KB DVD together? http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/evilgrin/evilgrin0010.gif

Sheesh, the price of Wii is astounding!

I did notice the "detox" tips on the Beacon site. I would feel uncomfortable drinking a laxative for no reason every night. I mean, wouldn't you become dependant on that? What does the morning one do? Rev up metabolism?

Should we do the morning one? :D

MICHELE - How you feeling?

Yes, the sample video they put on there sure made me want to get the DVD, even though it looks so basic. That's actually part of why I liked it. Basic. Slow. Simple. And I liked how the woman (who apparently is an actress -- she's not the daughter of that actor, is she?) spoke.

Do you plan to wear gloves or a wrist guard when doing KB?

I'm going to guess that my only option for a 5 kg kettle is going to be that one with the weird uncomfortable-looking square handles. I'm thinking in that case to go with the 4kg, but I'm a bit bummed with the prospect that I'll never be able to increase, and that as a starter might already be too light. Hmm. Why on earth do they make the series 4 kg, 8 kg, 12 kg and so on?!

Anyhoo, have a great Tuesday and chat with you laters! :*

Hello Haters.

Some good news, I am visiting a friend and her kids on Wednesday. I told her I'm getting wildflowers for my hill. She is giving them to me plus goat manure to help them grow. I'm bringing the Ben & Jerry's ice cream since she is from VT.

Nothing big planned today. it's supposed to get hot and humid after wednesday too.

OMG, $30 for a sundae????? I'm speechless. I should move to Japan for weightloss. I wouldn't be able to afford anything. LOL.
As for the pm detox, if you are taking a laxative, wouldn't you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night???? Or are they just referring to something like Fiber 1 or whatever that stuff is? Who knows! I hope that you're able to find a kettlebell this p.m.

Jennifer - oh I love wildflowers. I would prefer a bunch of wildflowers over a dozen roses anyday. What kind of ice-cream are you getting? It is supposed to be in the 90's here Thurs & Fri.

Miohele - how are you feeling today?

Tonight we're taking the kids to the fair. The same one that Robin was going to. Sorry but I won't be buying any time of fried ears. I also forgot to mention that on Friday night Gabe & I are going on a hot air balloon ride. It is only a tethered ride so we won't be going up very high or for very long. There's a festival starting on Friday here. It is $12/person for the ride. I didn't think that was too expensive.

I better get to work. I'm taking a few hours off to go to the eye doctor.

Have a great day all!

Morning haters. I'm wasting time at work, which I really don't have time to do, but there you go.

August, KB, KB, KB!! I will not give in. Actually, I'm not sure I could use them in my workout space. Our ceilings are relatively low - about 7 feet. I don't know what the KB workouts look like, but I have visions of smashing one through the drywall on the ceiling.

Dana, we didn't get to the fair yet. Since all of us are trying to lose some weight before we go to the shore in August, we are trying to be real careful with our diets. The reason I love the fair is for the food, so I think we will pass this year. Whoo hoo on the hot air balloon ride. Have fun.

Jennifer, I like to mow, but our push mower is so beat up and old, it has a secret trick to starting it that I don't know. I don't think I've mowed in 3 years.

Michele, hugs to you. You are in my prayers. Thanks for the prayers for Jay. He left last Monday and called Friday. He still wasn't quite back to where he needed to be.

Better get back to work now. Have a great hate-filled day all.

G'mornin' http://www.mysmileyz.com/smilies/838.gif

I've been using lots of naughty words this morning. They just seem to slip past my lips when I'm doing things like...oh...trying to stand up from a sitting position, trying to pick something up off the floor -- you know -- stuff like that. http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/7.gif

$30 for a sundae!!! That's outrageous!! OTOH, it is just play money, right? :p

I'm not sure I know what you mean about the kettlebell handles. I think the handles are square on all of them, aren't they? I was more concerned about the handles being smooth than I am about them being square -- LMAO!

Seriously, if you want to order some here and ship them to me, I PROMISE I'll forward them to you right away. Scouts honor. Oh wait, I'm not a scout. Well, I swear it, and I'm really good at swearing, especially lately.http://www.mysmileyz.com/smilies/390.gif

I've read that gloves may not be best for KB workouts but I can't remember where I saw that. I'll thoroughly research it for you.

DANA -- Um, no, I'm actually feeling a leeetle bit worse today. Hence all the bad words. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/frantic.gif

I felt the best when I was on my elliptical yesterday. I'm not kidding -- I was nearly pain free during my workout. I did a steady state workout that I made from CC tracks and it felt good. I might have to do that again today. Stretching helps, too, but the pain comes back the moment I stop stretching ;( .

Have fun at the fair! the balloon ride sounds like a blast. I think I'd rather be tethered. Something about actually flying in a balloon makes me feel askeered.

ROBIN -- I wish Jay didn't have to go back to Afghanistan. It sounds like things are kind of rough over there right now. I'll keep him right at the tippy top of my prayer list.

Oh yeah, I LOVE fair food! That's also why I never go to the fair. :p

JENNIFER -- wildflowers on a hill sound lovely! How will you get the goat manure back to your place? that does not sound lovely. :p

Hello Cuz, Diane, and Jen!! I better stand up now. I feel better on my feet ;) . I'll BBL if I can. :*

Hello Haters.

The ice cream is Ben & Jerry's cause my friend is from VT and their saying is: "God created ice cream, B &J's perfected it."

The goat maunure will be put in a box and then covered in a garbage bag. So, will the wildflowers. I think they are yellow and orange.

My home sits on a hill surrounded by 3 retaining walls so it's like a "tree house". In the front, I have a normal yard except for the last section (shelf) where it's quite steep. I have other ground cover there but I thought colour would be good. I mentioned to Wendy and she REALLY needs to get rid of manure and flowers. Major Blessing.

It's nice to be home this week.

so, was it worth it? How much would it cost to make the sundae at home? I know Meijer has mangos but never priced them out.

BTW, I might be going to Lowell to meet a guy at his work from Yahoo. personals. His name is Troy.

It feels like a lazy summer Saturday today. Thank GOD, life is good.
