HATE - July 11

August

Cathlete
Another good monster to you all! http://www.pic4ever.com/images/SEVeyesB08_th.gif

I did nothing yesterday. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/dancing1.gif It's great if I don't think about it, since postponing work really is just tightening my rope.

But that was yesterday! http://www.pic4ever.com/images/imslow.gif

I did a 10-min cardio and an upper body workout today and now I'm off to do some work. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/angelic004.gif

JENNIFER - Mooch always comes up onto my bed in the morning twice at certain times. The first one is to come plop down into my arm (after asking me to open my arm out for him), then he'll knead me and drool on my arm as I touch his neck and body.

The second time is to check on me and ask if I'm going to be getting up (in the winter he slept with me, but now that it's too hot, I sleep alone http://www.pic4ever.com/images/hanghead.gif ). First I'll hear him stretching and sort of scratching the side of my bed, then he'll jump up and walk up to my face and do his airy weakling mew, "Ehyu? Ehyu?"

So tell us about your volunteering at a parade. Will you be working with toys? Candies? Darts? Rides? Face painting?

MICHELE -

>Yesterday was supposed to be a rest day but I was so keyed up that I did the CC Pump workout at 10:30 last night

Good lord, woman, are you all right? http://www.pic4ever.com/images/snapoutofit.gif

>My invitations aren't done yet.

I know they'll turn out beautifully. They might be different from what you imagined....but those kinds of happenings can often work out to be a very cool twist!

>One of DH's colleagues proof reads all of his articles and text book chapters going from the last page forward. He said he can't find the mistakes otherwise. DH tried that but found it too taxing -- LMAO!

Oh wow, that's an idea for proof-reading! I can see how that would be very taxing!

DANA -

>I hope that they didn't charge for their mistake though.

Actually, it was our miss. I guess since we were looking and proofing it in 06, seeing the wrong date FEB 06 didn't pop out as wrong until it was actually printed up and in my stinkin' hand. I can't tell you how many people proofed it. You would think that SOMEONE, even someone at the printer, would have noticed that!

>If I don't start my workout by 7:30, I don't do one.

That's how I feel, too, except that my window closes around noon LOL.

>Oh who am I kidding, I couldn't tell you the last time I had a chance to workout.

I agree with you there, too. You do so much, Dana. It's a wonder you have time to post here.

>So what would you guys recommend as a good yoga DVD?

Oh boy, I did lots of research on this one! (Did I hear Michele giggling?)

What kind of yoga instructor do you think you'd be in to?

One that I do recommend is Rainbeau Mars and her series of Sacred Practices. Her sessions are quite short (30 min) and don't drag like a lot of yoga might - unless you are into yoga, in which case I suppose "drag" is the inappropriate word LOL. Rainbeau also films outdoors in a pretty location, and she's mellow and pleasant (and don't let the name fool you, she's not mystical).

For a longer session, I thought the Total Yoga series was nice. It's a very simple set though and might not work for some (I prefer simple sets and fewer people present).

And as much as I'm hesitant to write it, I've read good things about the MTV Pilates and Yoga series, though I've never tried them.

I have Rodney Yee and when I've gotten through the whole thing and it's finished, I feel awesome. How many times have I FORCED myself through the yoga one of his I have? Twice. I've also got Bryan Kest Power Yoga Series, but I don't even remember trying them out.

I started out with Crunch : The Perfect Yoga Workout and also Yoga for Dummies, and I think they are both good. The instructor Sara Ivanhoe is really mellow, which I like (though the Dummies one has these "reminders" that "pop" out in windows with a big BOING! sound which is fairly obnoxious). Both of these yoga videos aren't your typical "yoga" workout, but more like a youngish fitness instructor doing a yoga workout.

Okay then. LOL.

SHANNON - Hey there! We've missed you!

Yes, working at home is as awesome as it sounds. Except that it's very easy to become a mole. I am a mole for about half the year, and the other half of the year I'm out and about fully clothed LOL. When you're in your mole role, and you have to go out for a night, it's very difficult to summon up the gumption to put on makeup and figure out what outfit will be the least constricting.

As for what I do, I always have trouble saying what I do because it either comes out as sounding sketchy or conceited.

Here's the sketchy version : I'm in the entertainment business.
Here's the conceited version : I'm a singer songwriter.
Here's the tacky version : I'm a music writer/producer/performer.

On second thought, maybe they all sound sketchy LOL. Nevertheless, I feel incredibly lucky to be able to be doing what I always dreamed to do, and I've been really fortunate in timing and meeting the right people. I've really got it good and am very thankful. I complain about the lack of space in my apartment, but I really shouldn't be. I really am very lucky.

Okay. I'm off to make some magic!

Have a nice day everyone! Oh my gosh, it's Friday! Have a GREAT FRIDAY! :D

Hello Haters.

My alarms all failed me,3. Seville just slept with me. Madrid was off doing something and my actual alarm didn't go off so I am up about 30 minutes late. Great way to start a Friday.

No parades at all, that was on June 28th. I handed out lots of candy to cute little kids and got way behind my float. It was the weekend after New York.

Looks like rain here again today, I washed my car on Wed night to debug from kayaking up north, so it should rain anytime soon.

Have a Great day!!

Morning haters. I actually have some time on my hands this morning and thought it would be nice to say hi to my old friends.

August, morning Ms Sketchy-lucky-muscial-type-person. Yes, you may be lucky, but I know just from your wonderfully imaginative posts that you are awfully talented too. And you like cats! What more could you ask for in a person! My cats don't have much of a morning routine, since I get up at 4:45. They stomp around and meow on my days off, when I sleep in, though. Poor old Paddy cat is too heavy and old to jump up on the bed, so he just puts his front feet on the side of the bed and claws.

Dana, you are working to hard, my friend. I know you have a good boss, since you've said so. Isn't there anything she can do to help with your workload? Speaking of work, the hospital is trying to win one of those Good Places to Work Awards. They sent out questionaires to a select group of employees and I was one. Ha, they aren't going to win any awards with my answers. You'd think after doing a job for close to 30 years, it would get easier, but it's not. The work is getting more complex and the staffing keeps dwindling.

Jennifer, so when do you go kayaking again? My sister bought herself a little one person, sit upon plastic kayak to paddle around a lake near her house. I'd get one, but don't really have anywhere close to use it. We have the Susquehanna River near by, but we canoe on that.

Michele, I've been thinking/praying a lot about you lately, my friend. I hope you are handling the stress of worrying about your DH alright. Do his parents know about all that's going on? Hugs and more hugs.

I'm off for the next 4 days. Yippee. No big plans. Today we are going to an arts festival in State College. Tomorrow's forecast is good, so we are going to one of our favorite state parks for the day. The county fair started this week, so we may go there for some yummy, crappy food. Hope you all have a great Friday.

August - goodness, no, you don't sound conceited at all! How cool! I agree with Robin - I can tell by your posts that you're a very creative person. Have you cut any albums? I'd love to see.

Jennifer - well, at least it can't get much worse this morning, can it? Hang in there!

Robin - whoopeee!! I really hope you enjoy your time off. Your plans sure sound like you will!

No big plans for my weekend. Just the usual cooking and cleaning and working out. But I do have Monday off. That's good because I won't have to sit in front of the computer all day. That's bad because the day is going to be filled with icky errands and capped off by a dentist appointment.

Mornin! http://www.pic4ever.com/images/90.gif

I must.stay.on.task today. I have so much to do and I'll be sunk if I allow myself to get sidetracked. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/gen137.gif

I did CCV3 last night! I really like that one. Sean uses one of my all time favorite words in the English language in this workout -- SPUNKY! He asks if you're feeling spunky and I LOL every time I hear it. :7

No workout today unless I check everything off my list and have plenty of time to spare. We're taking our favorite waiter out to dinner tonight, too.

AUGIE -- And lets not forget that you're an aspiring children's book author and illustrator!! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/chores019.gif

I want you to write a book with all of your little characters that we have come to know and love...or at least a song about the hater's -- LMAO!!!

JENNIFER -- Oh no, a 3 alarm failure!! That's pretty astounding, actually. If my Johnny didn't wake us up on cue I'd consider it a veterinary emergency -- lol!

ROBIN -- WOO HOO -- 4 days off!! That's so nice, especially since your DH has the summer off, too, so you guys can do stuff together. I, OTOH, can't wait for summer to be over so I can see my DH again -- lol! I'm excited for fall when DH and I might actually get a minute to ourselves. ;-) Anyway, your plans sound great. I remember you going to the arts festival last year -- it sounds like fun. And when you go to the state fair, be sure and eat a corn dog and funnel cake for me. }( :9

Oh God no -- DH's parents don't know anything about the stress test or upcoming angiogram! They would be so worried and upset, and they might feel like they need to sit with me during the procedure and that would drive me crazy!! ;-) ;(

DANA -- Would you like to have my Rodney Yee yoga DVD? I never use it so it's yours for the asking.

Hello to everyone else!

I better run -- time's a wastin! :*

ETA Hi CUZ!!! -- We were posting at the same time! I hope you manage at least one fun thing on Monday! :D

Hey all!

Robin - what park are you going to? My boys have been asking me to take them back up to R.B. Winters park. We also go to Rickett's Glenn. Although I don't think that the hiking there is safe for my boys age. I haven't been to the Lycoming County Fair in ages. Maybe we'll head up there next week (or not). Enjoy your weekend! Yes my boss is great but I rarely see her. She won't be back in the office til sometime next week. I won't see her at all the month of Aug - I have her caledar totally booked already. Did Jimmy Buffet write a book? I saw in a flyer for the bookclub that I belong to that there is a book by Jimmy Buffet about a family that is keeping a pet pig illegally in a hotel room????? LOL Have you read it?

Jennifer - you had 3 alarms not work? Well that is a sign. You should've stayed in bed. And if your kitties didn't want to get up -then that is a fur-sure sign!!!

Michele - if you're sure you don't want the DVD I'll take it. That is the one he wearing that speedo in though, isn't it????????? }(

August - thanks for the recommendations on the yoga workouts. Where did you get the Rainbou Mars one? She isn't on collage video. She had a segment in one of the fitness magazines. I believe it was either SELF or Shape maybe????

Shannon - hey you!!!!!

Hi Jen and Diane!!! :D

Not sure what I'm doing for the weekend. My friend is having a 2 day yard sale and she told me to bring anything I may have to sell. I'm sure that I have stuff but haven't got a chance to go through my stuff. Maybe tonight if i get a chance.

I forgot to bring lunch so I guess I need to head out and get something. Maybe a grilled chicken sand & chili from Wendy's. I've had a salad everyday this week for lunch so I don't feel like a salad.

Hello Haters.

How are you?

Yes, it was a good sign for me to be home when all of my alarms didn't work. The morning was rough and so was the end. But, thank GOD I have ALL Next week off.

Sat am is groceries possibly cutting grass then off to see an old friend of mine.

Sevulle is fussing right now but happier on my lap. Madrid is on the entertainment center in the living room on the other side of the house.

Have a Great Night.
