Hellooo!
Sorry I couldn't drop by yesterday. Not that it had to do with Mr. Choco Raisin. I don't hink he would never chance coming out, particularly with it being so close to Valentine's Day. Not that anyone would touch him with a ten foot pole.
So yesterday I had a lunch meeting...at a ribs place. There was just no getting out of it. I had ribs. I haven't had ribs in a loooooooooooong time. I'm really not much of a meat eater, so having a meal with big nasty bones attached to it isn't exactly appealing. Though I must say it was quite tasty LOL. I spent most of the time ignoring what people were discussing because I was totally intent on slicing off as much fat from the meat as possible. You'd think a person could cut fat off meat and do a simple thing like listen to the conversation taking place, rather than have an insignificant conversation in their head like "ooh, I see some more marbly fat stuff in this piece...lesse, if I cut away here, then I should be able to scrape most of it out...oh yeah. That's good. There we go."
Anyway, yesterday was Christi's Humble Beginnings 7002 step section with abs. And today was Slow & Heavy Chest and Back.
And you know what? I'm totally back into my lifting mood. I came to Hatesville loving lifting and hating cardio, then I found Christi and started loving cardio and going less for lifting....well, I have come full circle, girls. Bring me my weights!! I guess that means I'll be back to my BFFM again in a few months or so LOL. Or not.
So anyway, this week is another S&H week with Christi to round out my cardio stuff.
Michele - So were you able to visit with the in laws? How is your MIL doing, by the way?...Chocolate chestnut butter. OMG. That sounds like he!! and I want some right NOW!!...I'm with you on the Rule! And it seems to have taken immediate action! Woo hoo!
Robin - What a worry that must be about Greyor. Thank goodness they know what the problem is and are able to go right away to treat it. I'll be sending good vibes for a quick full recovery....What Mariah suggested about tightening and releasing muscles is a very one. This is actually a relaxation technique and will help to relax the entire body. Start with your toes and make a conscious effort to tighten the muscles for a few seconds, and then release. Move to your calves, and then your thighs and so on. This conscious tightening and releasing of muscles is really a wonderful thing for your body and mind. Not to sound too froo froo or anything.
Arista - So Ryan doesn't like sweets? VD is hard if you don't like sweets (or I guess it's also true that VD is hard if you DO like sweets LOL). It's not like you can get him a really nice bag of potato chips or anything, right? Gourmet Pringles? Heh. How about some kind of cool wood or material he could use for his bird houses?...I think your plan to make an effort to think positively about your body image is a really good one. In BFFM, it says that if you begin to have any negative thoughts, you literally tell yourself, "Next!" Filling yourself with the positive will really help you to see it and believe it. Not to sound too froo froo or anything.
Jen - So true that having a chef as a husband would make for some really unwanted necessary extra cardio sessions.....Doubled over in pain from THAT. OMG, I cannot imagine how awful that must have been. How did you figure out the hot water method? Was that by chance or did someone teach you that?
Mariah - Thanks for helping with the unknown song! I see that Terri was able to decipher a good chunk of lyric and that she posted them. But you didn't recognize the song? Oh wait, it's called Realize. Maybe I'll search a bit, too...I thought what you wrote referring to your body as "what it can be" was really interesting and insightful. Aiming to be your personal best body is really the logical way to go....Congratulations on your granddaughter!! That's wonderful news. You must be so excited to see her! Will there be a chance soon for you to visit?
Terri - LMAO! Do you like me check yes or no. That is really cute, OMG. I'm actually kind of relieved to hear that kids these days still use that. I guess your DH's cards are a bit more sophisticated and romantic! Though check yes or no is really clear and to the point!
Dana - You have a brick oven! Wow! My imagination is telling me this thing is huge - where on earth do you put something like that?
Diane - That's an uncomfortable situation for you and your sister about the baby, what with her possible marriage problems because of a baby. I hope she'll be able to have a positive reaction for your wonderful news.
All right, I'm finished with my smoothie and am now totally freezing my butt off. So off I go to my work room and heater.
Later!
