I've been posting a bit in the OD forum. Why, you ask? Because -- I can REPLY to threads that someone else has started :p

I'm getting ready to do a Cardio Coach workout. I'm going to have to do it early because it's supposed to get well up into the 70's today. I LOVE this weather, but my elliptical is upstairs and as soon as it warms up outside my 2nd floor heats up like an oven ;( . I HATE having my equipment on the 2nd floor x( . I appear to be filled with hate today :7

My low back is feeling better, but the pain seems to have settled in my hip. I've been stretching a lot, and doing superman's and tons of hip opening stretches. It seems to be helping.

ROBIN -- so what is this contraption that Greyor has to use? You said it's to strengthen his neck? I hope it does the trick! How long before he's evaluated again? Does he mind when you stand him (?) in that thing?

Augie, Dana, Cuz, Jen, Jennifer, and all -- WTH are you, huh!? Get in here right now, little ladies, or I'm coming over there. :p

Michele, the stander looks like a Frankenstein kind of thing. He gets strapped in and then elevated. He seems to like it. We have to keep his head from lolling to the right side, which he favors. He's supposed to stand for about an hour a day. My rash is clearing up, but I still have the head cold. And the anti-viral meds seem to be making me tired and dizzy. Have fun with your weather.

Cuz - I'm not a Hater. I feel funny starting this thread. :p I hope you had a decent cardio workout today - was it too hot upstairs yet?

Robin - that standing frame sounds similar to the frame some paralyzed people use. It helps them promote circulation and stuff, since sitting in a wheelchair for so long can encourage pressure sores.

Okay. I guess I'd better not say anything else. Because the only thing I have to say is cardio-related, and I'm pretty excited about it. I'll hush. :p :7

Whoa -- I lost my internet connection! Another thing I Hate -- lol!

Robin -- UGH! How much longer do you have to take that med? Unpleasant side effects are, well, unpleasant http://69.0.137.118/dc/images/cry.gif . I don't know about you, but I'm TERRIBLE about remembering to take my meds. I'm on HRT and something for my BP -- I take one in the AM and one in the PM. Well, lately I've been taking my AM med in both the morning AND the evening. I've done that twice in the past week :eek: . I don't know why I do that -- I just forget that it's bedtime, I guess. I haven't noticed any sort of hormone rage, so it must be OK :7

Cuz -- I have NOT done my workout yet. I've been doing laundry and horsing around on the internet :p . I know -- I'm going! I'm going! Sheesh!

ETA so Cuz, what's this cardio workout you're all excited about?

Robin -- I'm glad Greyor likes that doohickey, and I hope his neck muscles are strengthened by it quickly.

Hey haters. Sorry I've been MIA. I'm really busy at work and I don't get on the computer much at home. Except for this past weekend. If you guys play online games, there is a really fun one at Gamehouse.com called Bookworm Deluxe. Fun, fun, fun!

It is beautiful here too. I wasn't able to take a walk b/c I had to run to the pet supply & feed and get Ralphie his food. I'm going to try "Cowbook Cookout" by Merrick and if he doesn't like this, I guess it is back to the Timberwolf. I also got him some lavender shampoo that smells really good & some organic treats. He better appreciate me! LOL

Robin - I've seen that contraption you are referring to. One of the boys in the MDS class at our high school uses one. I hope that your soon done with your meds. I hate that tired feeling from antibiotics.

Michele - did you get your CC workout in yet?

Hey, have you tried mixing the old and new foods together for awhile? This might help Ralphie adjust to the new food. You start by mixing mostly old food with a little new food, then after while you mix 1/2 & 1/2, then after he's used to that you mix mostly new with a little old. Does any of that make sense?

Workout you ask? Um...I'm getting ready to do it right now :p
 
Cuz ...... did you do that workout yet? :p Okay. You did ask. So here it is. I did air jacks last night!!! I did it, I did it!!! I did the Body Max 2 Cardio Blast premix completely and without one single modification, and my calf was happyhappyhappy. Ahhh, I haven't felt so good in a long time! Air jacks! Didja hear??? I did AIR JACKS! And plyo jacks, and hop turns, and power runs, and jump rope around the world... :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

Okay, is that enough cardio now?

I'm thinking about wearing my weighted vest while I do a CC workout (V.1 or 2) on Eli. Whad'ya think about that? Do you think it'd be too much? How much weight should I use?
 
I think you're nuts. ;) Just remember how dang hot that vest will make you.

I'm thinking about Aqua Jock's idea with Low Max to use the med ball. I've used a 10 lb med ball for it, and it really increases the cardio factor quite a bit! So... maybe 10 lbs in the vest won't be too bad. Is it easy to take off if you need to?
 
Oh yes, it's very easy to put on and take off.

10 lbs, eh -- well alright then! I 'll give her a go and see what happens. Oh, and I'll have a fan blowing directly on me, and a ceiling fan on full blast ;)

You used a 10 # medicine ball for Low Max!? :eek:

Shannon I'm so glad that your calf is better but just what do you think you're doing, speaking those evil words (air jacks, plyo, hop turns) in the hater thread!!!!! You're quite brave, you know it? :p

Michele - did you try the weighted vest on eli?

I only have 15 more minutes til quitting time. Thank GOD, it has been a LONG day!!!
 
I emailed Coach Sean and asked for his opinion about using the vest during elliptical workouts and he answered me back!!

Oh yeah, I guess you want to know what he said :p

He said it probably wouldn't make much difference since you don't actually lift your own weight like you do if you walk on a dreadmill (my word, not his :p ). He thought it would be better to just amp up the resistance on my elliptical. Now that I think about it, it was a pretty stupid idea -- LMAO!!! Really though, I should've known that. And why on EARTH would I want to wear that thing while doing heart pumping cardio in a hot room!? I guess I had a momentary and horrific lapse of judgement. :eek:

Got my new pacakge from Nancy today, earlier than I thought. Core Max and Hardcore Extreme.

Severe weather and possibly snow is in the forecast.

No new news. Thank GOD, no family members are ill or in the hospital.

Seville and Madrid are quite active today.
