Gooooood sweaty morning!
My friends are now on the airplane. We had a great time walking around here and there during Japan's hottest summer in 48 years LOL. Not joking.
And now I must take a moment to write out that I just had a really heart-warming squirrel happening.
After having played together with feather teasers and having a good ol' time, Mooch and Cham started wrestling as usual, and Yoyo and Lulu were just tuckering out, so I went over to my computer....when all of a sudden, Cham started screaming at the top of her lungs! She's normally very vocal, and always playfully screams, but this time was totally different.
Mooch was on top of her with a "what's the problem?" face, so I assumed that he was just playing too rough, so I quickly went over to get him off of her, when I noticed that Cham's foot had gotten wound up in one of the dangling toys that hangs from the crinkle tunnel I recently got them. I think she was more scared than anything, but she was absolutely frantic to get her tangled foot loose.
She was screaming and flailing about in desperation, scratching and biting at my arms as I tried to untangle her - I was so focused on quickly and calmly getting her tiny footsy out I wasn't thinking about my bare skin.......and finally she broke free and ran to the other room.
I was so relieved to get her free.....and then I realized something. My arms were completely unscathed!
She'd been scratching and biting out of panic, but not at all using her claws (that I haven't had time to clip this week) and not biting down hard with her teeth. I was dumbfounded! Sweet Cham Cham!
I found her sulking in the other room, so I knelt down to pet her some.....and then, more tear-jerking! Each of the three squirrels one by one came over to see if Cham was okay! I kid you not! It could have been an after-school TV special. They all came over and touched their nosies to Cham's nosie and looked up at me to make sure all was good...and I was just so moved and was just ready to cry! http://bestsmileys.com/crying/4.gif http://bestsmileys.com/love2/3.gif
I'm so glad I could write about this heartwarming story, because I was getting ready to tell you how I finally had some time to brush them this afternoon, made a small fur ball from all four of their loose fur, and just as I was going to throw it in the garbage,....Mooch promptly ate it LMAO.

MICHELE - I hope you and your DH are having some really nice off-time together!
ARISTA - Did you have a fun birthday? Pancakes and sausage, woo hoo!
JENNIFER - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news with the resume!
JEN - Girl, you get sick too often. We worry! Are you feeling better?
ROBIN - That's really great that you found a place for your mother that you yourself would like to live. That sounds wonderful. Your mother can be comfortable and not worry, and certainly she'll be able to make some new friends and do tons of new stuff.
DANA - Your kitty story was amazing! I would so be the owner of five new kitties LMAO. Did they come back for more food? Taking care of four kittens has really been a lot of work - which I absolutely love and would do again in a second - but I'm afraid that I'm not giving each one of them the interactive playtime and tummy rubs that they deserve. 53 cats. Well, it's a place to sleep and eat, I suppose, which can be better than roaming around on the streets with nothing...
Ooh, I love opossums! I think they're totally cute! I know you guys aren't surprised.
We had a pet door for our cats when I was growing up. It was really great. Our three could come and go as they pleased and they just loved it. There were only a few times when I'd wake up and get some breakfast to find a totally unrelated cat hanging out in the house LMAO. The cat would be roaming around the house with a quizzical look but kind of trying to walk with an attitude like "uh, yeah, I like, totally know where I am, uh...how do I get out of here?"
Hi, Shelley, Hi, Diane, Hi, Janjan, Hi, everybody else!
All right. I suppose I should do something here.
I'll check back with you laters!
ETA : That danging thing is now cut off and in the garbage.
