Has anyone had a vitrectomy for Macular Pucker of the eye?

Hello, eye doctor told me that I have scar tissue in the gel-like substance that fills our eyes and the only way to remove it having surgery - vitrectomy. This surgery is a 30 minute out-patient procedure (local anesthesia), where they go into that gel-like area of the eye and remove the scar tissue so that it doesn't continue to "pucker" the macula. It's not a serious condition and sometimes they say to keep a watch on it. So I'm just wondering if anyone had something like this and getting as much information before I make the decision for surgery. Thanks for any info you can share, I truly appreciate it.
