Has anyone had a stability ball burst on them?

I'm just curious b/c I don't understand these "non-burst" stability balls. I bought my first one like 10 years ago & there were no warnings about them bursting back then. Is this just another marketing ploy?

If I had one, and it burst I would be embarrassed! LOL. Just kidding...I have never heard of this, but maybe it could happen...

Um, marketing scam is my initial feeling, but I have never seen anyone severely overweight use one, so maybe.
Is the material different from the ones that we have? I am curious about that.
Peace out,
Miss

How about a dyna-band? Do you think these could break? I was thinking it would really hurt to have that piece of plastic hurtling upward...

No, I haven't. I got a cheapo one from Wal-Mart and have had it for almost 2 years. It's NOT burst-resistant and I'm terrified of having it explode on me when I'm doing weight work on it. I use it for pikes, core work, floor work, and the LIGHT weight work in PP/SS. I don't do bench presses or flyes on it. Not only am I scared of my cheapo ball failing me, but I have scoliosis and feel like only part of my spine is supported on the ball during chest work. So I still use my step bench. I don't know if it's a marketing ploy, and since I've never used a burst-resistant ball, I don't know if there is any visible or tangible difference between that and one that isn't. But I sure want to get a burst-resistant one, once mine wears out.
