Hardwood floors/sliding furniture

I have a silly question but I know that someone will have the answer for me here! Please help!

I moved into an apartment with beautiful hardwood floors. I noticed that my furniture moves/slides from the slightest pressure, even when it is anchored up against a wall.

Perfect example: last night I jumped on my bed (wise guy that I am) and it slid about 4 inches in one direction, away from the wall it was up against.

I am looking for some tips to keep my furniture in place. I almost think that even if I throw a (throw) carpet under it, that it might slide just the same!

Any ideas?

I don't have any ideas to stop this, but I know that if you went to a store that specializes in flooring, they might have ideas. Heck, that's what they get paid for, right?

I used to have this problem too in a house growing up and it drove my mother nuts because after a while, the furniture left some pretty large scratches and grooves in the flooring.:D

You can get rubber pads that go under the legs of furniture to keep them from sliding. Check Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond or Target, they'll probably have them.
