Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I did P90X Kenpo X followed by short Pilates Ab routine and Bryan Kest's Energize Power Yoga.

I ended up sleeping in until 4:00 am this morning and when I did get up, I didn't even feel like working out (I'll NEVER be able to sleep tonight now). I have to say I'm sort of disappointed in P90X. I REALLY have to be creative doing Kenpo X to get my heartrate up there. If I don't add my own intensity, I feel my HR falls too low in this workout. I really don't feel Tony can honestly say "Bring It" to me for this workout. I was like ....well Tony...c'mon Bring it Already!!! Geez!

And since I'm feeling particularly cocky right now...I'll go a step further here and say...I honestly don't feel Men have the "endurance" level us women have for aerobics and weightlifting. I notice this on all of my Beachbody stuff. Tony sure likes to take those breaks.(and sounds particulary out of breath when I'm barely breathing heavy)...which drives me nuts, as I've stated before.....I usually jog or start doing the moves early in ALL of his workouts. The reason I categorize Men together here.....is because I mentioned this to my DH and he acted like "what breaks"....there are no breaks. He even thought this about P90X Yoga which I thought didn't move quickly enough and there was too much explaining....to which he replied I was nuts. Thus..the conclusion that men don't have the stamina and endurance women do. Oh and my DH even said ...well, it must be cuz you don't lift heavy enough or do it good enough, but I know I push myself and lift AS HEAVY as I can safely. I've been working from my old sheets doing P90X and I can't believe how much heavier I'm lifting now than I was at that time.

Anyway....I'll quit babbling now.

I haven't done that Bryan Kest Yoga for years! I used to do that when it first came out (all of the time). I learned Yoga on his 3 tape series. I practically know all of the chatter verbatim....I had to laugh. I really did like the pose selection and I think I'll start reaching for this more often, as it's just slightly different than other yoga practices.

Have great workouts everyone. Off to soak my shoulders and see Johnny Depp. The DH and I both really like Johnny. We like the bizzare characters he always plays. We've seen everything he's done.

I'll be back later.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Lora,

You sound like a complete MANIAC! Maybe I need to order the P90X now? LOL! I have been procrasinating on that and need to get it. Maybe end of month cuz we are broke right now. I use to work out to Gilad with the aerobics, but once I started with Cathe Gilad could not keep my heart rate up anymore. I might still have to get up there and pay you a visit and we can do P90X together...WOO HOO!

I got my mowing done yesterday. Seen a timber rattlesnake near our yard as I was driving home and tried to run over it (backed up and missed...darn!) That stinks so now I am watching my feet as it hits the grass...alittle more. Dh is home and my sleeping was off. He is on a different schedule then me and thinks I need to be on the same one when he is home. So I am just waking up and it is almost 8:30???? I wanted to do some bike riding so hope I will be feelin' it now to go cuz when I have my sleep broken up, it does affect my workouts and such. I need to work chest/back/abs/legs today so I will pretty much be working out for several hours. Our realtor is coming by to take pictures of our home.

ETA: Love the shirt Lora...NOW THAT IS THE ONE TO WEAR!!!! Love it!
Oh, and about Johnny Depp....Gosh, he is something else. Love the characters he plays cuz he is twisted and I can relate and of course he is hot, but just don't like pirate movies.

Debbie,

Great name for Sandra...never thought of that. Not a fan of hers too much. I might wait for that movie to come out on video or let me know how it is. Did you say you seen it yet?

Hello Ladies,

You may have noticed I have not been aroud much. I have been working out etc. just needed some me time to sort through feelings I was having. Some of you may understand that 16 years is a long time and to suddenly lose that part of your life is very hard. I wanted to come back here when I wouldn't be such a downer.

So moving along... I kept up on what you guys were up to though:)

Lora-I saw Pirates Friday night and really enjoyed it. I too love johnny Depp and his work!
Debbie-Did you see the Devil Wears Prada? It is good. I also want to see the Lake house.

Rainy weekend here! I have rather enjoyed this rain though. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Terri

Anyway...I am swamped with this school project so I have to get to it.

Hello to everyone! You guys have a great workout and a great day!

This week I'm going to work one body part a day and then do about 30 minutes of cardio each day except for my leg day. Hope my knees can deal with this. I'm going to use the Pyramid workouts and Muscle Max workout.

This morning I did Pyramid Chest using 15/20/25's and then I did Muscle Max Chest. For the push ups I used the push up bar handles on my power tower. Didn't seem to be that hard but I got a great burn and felt it more in my outer pecs than my inner pecs. This gives me some great range of motion and felt a lot better than using dumbbells.

Then I did leg raises on my Power Tower for my low abs. I did 4 sets of 10 reps. I'm not sure but I think I have the handles on the wrong sides. The arm pad is very uncomfortable when I'm trying to hold myself up. I'm going to switch them around later and see if its any better.

Then I did All Step cardio only and All Step Abs. I was in my zone for 20 minutes and burned 138 calories.

Charlotte - my dh calls her that, not sure why. LOL! We are going in a couple hours to go see that movie. Scary about the rattle snake!

Diane Sue - Does the arm pads on your Power Tower that hold you up to do the ab work go like this / \ or are the like this \ / ?

Mine are the first way where the arm pads face more towards the wall at an angle, not towards me and it just doesn't feel right to me. I think I may have put them on backwards.

Hope you all have great workouts!

Terri - I can TOTALLY relate to how you feel, but the difference with us is that we ALWAYS have 3 cats. When we lose one, we grieve for a bit and then we buy a new kitty and that joy brought into the house is unbelievable and really helps ease the pain of the loss. We've done this for the last 18 years we've been together. We've lost a lot of cats that weren't very old over the years. We had one brand new kitty that I got for my B-day get electrocuted and die. I found it on the wire dead and was in shock. We lost a couple to rare diseases, etc....we've been thru a lot with our cat family, but the most recent blow was our cat that was about 16 years old that we got when we first met got sick and was down to 5 pounds and we had to have him put to sleep. This was the worst blow we've ever taken, but the strangest thing came about out of it. We adopted our first cat at the ripe old age of 5 months old (never got one that old before) and we were so worried that he wouldn't love us the same cuz we didn't raise him from a baby....but he ended up being the BEST cat we've ever had. He's EXTREMELY affectionate and needs TONS of attention and has the neatest personality. My DH, who rarely favors a certain cat in the family, even favors this cat BIG TIME. We both love him to death and can't believe we existed without him. It's even stranger cuz he has a lot of the traits that Pinky (our beloved 16 year old) cat had when he was younger. It's like in some ways he's Pinky reincarnated. We always joke that while Pinky was an African-American cat...cuz he was dark gray and had a black nose and dark gray eyes....that Hollywood is an "albino" boy cuz he's blonde and has light yellow/green eyes and white paws with a pink nose and pink paws. Anyway.........I hope you can find it in your heart to let yourself love another new animal soon. It really helps ease the pain.....but I do also understand that you need some time to grieve. TAke care....and my prayers are with you.

Hi Charlotte!!! So, you like the shirt, huh? I also think it's way cool. I just love that Buckle store. It's TOTALLY my style. It's rare that I find stores I like! so I'm excited about that.

I'll be back later.

Hi to everyone else......glad you like the shirt too Jan Jan.

Lora-Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with me. They truly touched me and it is so nice to know that you truly GET what I am feeling. Maybe someday I can get another dog but not right now. Thank you again for the stories of your animals.

Terri

Terri - Hang in there.

Charlotte - We went to the pirate movie. I must say, I don't particularly care for pirate movies either and I don't even think the movie was that good (thought the same about the last one), but Johnny Depp's body language, facial expressions and acting makes the movie worth watching. He's a trip. I much preferred him in his roles before he had children of his own and started doing all of these kiddie movies like Willy Wonka, Pirates, etc. Have you ever seen Blow, Johnny Scissorhands or Who's Eating Gilbert Grape? There's also that wild movie he was in with Antonio Banderas where he plays the bad guy. They are all in Mexico and Antonio carries a banjo around? It's one of those bang, bang shoot em up crazy movies by Rober Roddriguez but I can't think of the name of it. He did that Vampire movie not too long ago also (Rodriguez did) From Dusk to Dawn or something like that.

I'm really starting to get mental about going back to work tomorrow. It's gonna be a rough week with Charles on vacation again and my boss back and in a bad mood...........ugh.

Seen The Lake House. Cute movie, but weird. Has anyone here seen it yet? I don't get how Kate and Alex are in the same time period (year) and then all of a sudden they are two years apart. Didn't make sense. Good movie, though. We were going to do some theatre hoping and go see Devil Wears Prada but it didn't start until 4 and we have a lot to do here at home. Oh well, there's always next weekend.

Debbie,

Thanks for the movie update. I probably don't want to see it. I don't like confusion. LOL!

Lora,

Yes, I did see the movie, "Blow" and I liked it very much. That is a good one. Not sure I have seen the others.

Well I just got done working chest/back and I did 500 crunches this morning on my own as well doing moves from Oxygen magazine and ones memorized from Cathe's video's. I like to go at my own pace and I get irritated lately doing workouts from videos cuz Cathe moves so friggin' fast and sometimes I can't find the remote in time to hit "pause", etc. I like alittle longer rest periods too cuz when the weights are heavy, I think it is necessary. Now I want to ride my bike and my hubby is TELLING me that I am tired. How does he know how I feel? (((HEELLLOO))). Anyhow, he is going to bed early as usual so I might as well. What am I suppose to do? Sit around and look at my walls? I just can't sit still.

Charlotte~~

Debbie - We saw it a few weeks ago and I thought the same thing. I laughed at your comment about Sandra Bullock. She's okay....I guess. I've read good things about her. I think she does a lot for other people because of who she is and that makes me like her more.

Good afternoon,
I had plans to workout, but I like to stay up late with dh on Fridays and Saturdays. I slept in. I don't think I slept much when we went to the lake last weekend. It has caught up with me. We went to church and out to lunch with our dd and her family.

Lora, I felt the same with the cardio doing P90X. I did like Kempo X but added more kickboxing or a run to it to make it an hour of cardio. Plyo X is the toughest cardio in this set. I just think a lot of men do not work out to gain endurance. They are more into how big can I get and how much can I lift. I have so many men ask how much I bench. I think, do you not do something else??? There are those that are intent on a well balanced variety. I just dont think it is what a lot think that they need. In their defense and with their genetics I think men can get some great muscle definition with weights only. We could not train the same because our bodies are programed to hold the fat for our so called child baring years. I have seen friends that worked with dh that went to taco bell for lunch. This would not work for me LOL. BTW I love Johnny Depp, and Sandra Bullock. I have Willie Wonka and it is not so great. I think Sandra Bullock is cute and funny myself.

Charlotte, we have had family work at the theater for years. We used to see everything knowing we could just walk out if it was really bad. Mostly we just stay home. I would rather watch them on pay per view. I am forced to sit still at a theater. Not to good at that:)

Debbie, My hand grips lean in at me and the arm pads slope down toward the back pad. I don't think I could use symbols to show you this. If you don't understand I will try and find one like this. The dip bars come out straight. Yesterday I did asome dips with this. I intned to up the reps on this as well.

Terri, good to see you back. I hope the pain and dealing with the loss in your daily routine gets easier. I can imagine how it is.

Hi to everyone,
Diane Sue

Diane Sue - I think I understand what you mean, I think mine are on backwards. I forgot to switch them today, maybe I will here in a few. How many dips can you do? I only did three, those were hard! I feel like such a wimp!

Lora - we call Sandra Butt-Lock out of love. LOL! Seriously, we love her and her movies, not sure why we started calling her this.

Debbie,
I felt kind of wimpy on the dips as well. I usually will pick up a 45# barbell even when none is used for triceps dips. With body weight I could get in 10. I thought I need to keep going in there till I can do these easily. Definitely tough. But then body weight.
