Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Mon 8/6/07

This is going to be a crappy week. My boss is gone so I am acting "boss/supervisor" this week. Not a bad thing I guess, just more work.

Had a great workout this morning, worked Chest & Tri's.

Chest
Barbell Bench Press (warmup):
1 min. rest
85# - 12/10 reps

Barbell Bench Press (working sets):
2 min. rest
105# - 6 reps
110# - 2 sets/6 reps (up 5#)
***My goal is to bench my body weight (125#) by the end of the year

Incline DB Press:
2 min. rest
42's - 3 sets/8 reps (up 2#)
***These felt really good at this weight.

Decline Flyes:
2 min. rest
37's - 3 sets/10 reps (up 2#)

Pushups:
1:30 min. rest
BW - 20/20/15 (added an extra set)

Triceps
Close Grip Bench Press:
1:30 min. rest
85# - 3 sets/6 reps (same as last week but shortened the rest)
***The shortened rest period made this quite a challenge. I really wanted to up it to 90# but thought better of it.

Skull Crushers:
1:30 min. rest
60# - 1 sets/6 reps
55# - 2 sets/10 reps
***60# was REALLY HARD! I can't believe 5# made that much of a difference. The weight almost pulled me off the bench. The shortened rest period made this a real challenge.

Bench Dips:
1:30 min. rest
55# - 9/8/8 (up 10#_
***These killed today, again I think because of the shortened rest period plus the added 10#.

I was really pumped by the time I got done. Love that feeling!
 
Morning ladies. Feelin pretty good today. Legs a tinge sore, but good to go..
Cardio today. Gonna hop on the treadmill for an hour or so and maybe do some triceps. Just can't lift over 20# , so i am going to do tri and shoulders and keep everything from atrophying..
No abs yet. No chest, but we really don't want that boy any bigger anyways..LOL..

Deb, 85# bench is a warm up...

Good morning. This weekend was a complete FLOP health wise, but the boys and I had a great time at camp. I took them fishing, and just had fun.
But, today is cardio and abs. I have to go grocery shopping....with 3 children....but it has to be done. Gonna stock up all healthy things. Now that DH issn't here to eat the boring junk, I can fill the house with good stuff, so no bad temptations.

Awesome WO Deb. You are really amazing.

Good morning!

I woke up with a migraine this morning. :( Could have been from my inhaler yesterday. I still have to try to avoid triggers. Darn it. Today I go to the doc to see about getting a new inhaler. I really don't use it much except if I'm doing group rides in the wind. But then you all know that already. I only did it yesterday since I was riding with DH and his buddy in the wind. I don't know why I bother with it since it doesn't help. I pretend it does.

ANYWAY...I didn't work out. I took Imitrex and it makes me like jello. It didn't help. I finally took Excedrin and that helped. I didn't want to take it b/c of the caffeine. But it worked. :)

I think tonight I will either do PUB or do upper body on my own with abs. Probably no cardio today. I hate skipping cardio but I know I won't have time. And yesterday's ride was long enough that taking today off won't kill me. I was hoping to ride 62.5 miles on Sunday in the Ride for Sight, but anyone who I may ride with can only do 50, so it looks like it's going to be 50. And it's been so windy here this past week that if it's windy I won't want to do more than 50 in the wind.

Happy Monday!!! I hope Lora's okay in Las Vegas. I hope they catch that shooter.

I have the grandchildren settled. They played in the water for 2 hrs and are watching Charlottes Web so it is quiet. My workout was Kelly Coffey's Step Box, I stopped at the cardio/wt segment and did Tracey's Sweatfest step segment#1, I went back adn finished the c/w segment and abs of Stepbox, I started S&H with the abs then did triceps and biceps, Amy's Abs and Str str#1.

Debbie, 85# as a warm up? I don't do 85# as my heavy weight. You are doing great.

Little at a time Diane Sue, i am still tiring here . Figure that will be a few months..

Did seated biceps today. 12# seemed really heavy, but i am sure it will come all back..

I need to loose this butt , so i am going to just maintain and do the cardio..

Anne - Did you workout yet? LOL! I keep reading that you're going to workout but I'm not sure if you have yet? :) Oh, nevermind, I just seen it. Don't you hate it when weights feel heavy? I had one of those days on Saturday.

Yep Deb, Sun and today..
Got 2 in. Not strong as normal, but better than nothin..

Cardio ,not rough. 4.0 for an hour. It was really tiring. Still drained..
Did B&G standing legs Sun..

Some biceps today.. Sitting. I have to watch. I can do hammer and conc and more 1 arm at a time..
Figure an hour of at least fast walking a day will keep me from gaining. Get my cardio going again..
Maybe i will get skinny. LOL...Like SUZ...

Doubt i ever get to where you are Deb girl..

Hey guys. So I didn't WO today, I seem to have hurt my lower back. Probably from sleeping in a tent for two days! My neck is sore too. I was gonna go ahead and just do the cardio, but it really is hurting. So I better be safe then sorry.

Oh, but I did find a babysitter! Whoo hoo! And I went grocery shopping and stocked up on really healthy food. Only a few junky things for the boys, but not much. They had steak really cheap this week so I bought 6 big steaks. Anyway, off to heatpad my back. Have a great night.

Alas, no workout for me. What a slacker, huh? They were supposed to call in a prescription for me so I ran over to Wal-Mart and they hadn't called it in. So I walked around and talked to my sis on the phone (like a loser with nothing to do :) ) and finally went back and still no prescription and it was 6:15, so the nurse must have forgotten. How frustrating! A waste of time.

So FINALLY no comments about my weight. I weigh probably 6 or so pounds less than the last time I went in and this nurse (a nice, older lady) didn't say a word about my BMI and the PA I saw didn't say one single word about my weight. She's younger and in good shape. LOVED her for that!

She's not 100% sure I have asthma. But she did give me 2 new prescriptions for inhalers, one is a daily (yup, I know what I said but she thinks no headaches). :p She also ordered an echocardiogram. She wants to see that my valves and lungs are working properly (or something like that). She knows I've had all the tests in the world b/c she has all my records, but she really wants to do this test.

She told me to take it easy on the bike until we get the results back. Oh, okay. Because whatever it is certainly wouldn't have killed me in the last 25 years of running and cycling. :) I told her I have a big ride coming up this weekend so that probably wouldn't happen.
