Hardcore Fitness Maniacs - June 2 Tuesday

Morning Ladies - This morning I did Tracy Anderson's Perfect Design 3 with 1 lb ankle weights. I paused here and there. Was tough. I added on a 7" stretch. Workout was 70" and I burned 350 calories. Max HR was 125.

I'm scheduled to do a recovery week (really just change it up for a week) and then continue on with ...this rotation for 4 more weeks......and I'm thinking about upping my ankle weights...but I'm not sure if I can! Have great workouts everyone.

I work the early shift today. Both of us are there and Wednesday's are dead. Yuk.

Lori - RE: the yoga and longer holds...unbelievably NOTHING can make me feel stretched out these days. I don't know what the heck is going on. I used to be more flexible on the right than the left, but that has reversed and now I'm seriously tight in my right hamstring, glute, etc. It's really bad. My shoulders and upper back are always like cement! I still have to try a 1 hour yoga tape and see if that helps.

Good morning everyone!

I had a "DOH" this morning at camp #2. I woke up DH at 3 am in a panic because my new DVD player wasn't working. After he got it going and all set for my HIIT workout, I realized that I forgot my sneakers - ARGH. I only had flip-flops and water shoes, so I decided to do a few tabata intervals and some ab work and call it a day.

Debbie - I can't wait to start STS again in the fall. I have a squat rack, although not the exact one that Cathe uses for the next round. I really noticed results in terms of muscle strength and tone, but did not drop any #'s. However, I know I was not eating well (at all), so I think that's the main reason. Again, thanks for the great rotation. I am going to mix the part one and part two rotations over the next several weeks. Have a great day! :D

Theresa - I have to say I have been very careful about eating well and staying on Debbie's great rotation. I also have been EXTREMELY active over the past several weeks setting up our two camps, etc. This past weekend I was sailing for at least 5-6 hours, hiking for at least 5-6 hours, biking twice for over an hour each time, and running around the campgrounds (lugging stuff to and from the boat), as well as swimming, cooking, cleaning....the list is endless. Basically, I was at a constant "go" from very early Friday morning until yesterday.

Lori - Nice job on your workouts over the weekend. Are you sleeping any better? I didn't see anything in your posts over the weekend about that, but I'm sorry if I missed it. Have a great day! :)

Diane Sue- I hope you are feeling better today and get some much needed energy. I was thinking about you this weekend while I was running around like a madwoman for 4 days in a row! I don't know how you can keep up that pace all of the time - I'm exhausted!

Lora - Nice workout this morning. I hope your work schedule/situation is improving.

Ok...that's all for now. I hope everyone has a great day!

Cheryl :)

Today was cardio and I chose Body Max 2 Timesaver Cardio Only Premix and then I did the abs in this workout too. Had a great sweaty workout. Love this step workout. I started out with 2 risers but then it was just too hard due to the humidity. Plus my knee is feeling good and I didn't want to chance it. So I used 2 risers with the warmup and the first step combo and then I lowered it to 1 riser.

The ab work in this workout is excellent. Lots of lower ab work and I get a really good burn with it.

HR STATS - cardio only:
47 minutes total
55 seconds below zone LOL!
8 minutes in zone
36 minutes above zone
387 calories burned

Was hoping for more of a calorie burn but I'm ok with that. Should have done the Cardio Blast premix, it's an hour, but I wanted to get abs in today.

Lora-nice workout. Have you tried the stick massager? It is a nice tool to work out muscle tightness and gets in smaller spaces than then foam roller does. It would probably be great for days when you are on your feet all day.

cheryl-thanks for the info, and darn it for being good eats :p That is my biggest hang up, but I am working on it. And LOL at your morning, I have had far too many days like that

Lori-sorry you were dragging yesterday but good work getting something done. I should have done that over the weekend, but I just couldn't get moving. And thanks, I'm glad to make someone giggle :)

ETA: nice work this a.m. Debbie. The humidity is bad here too, it's hazardous-especially w/ a sweaty step :D

Yesterday was cardio and I did the cardio premix from Circuit Blast followed by the warm up and 4 step combos from Tracie Long's Step Forward. I really like the length of the combos (about 5 minutes each) and the fact that you can make it as intense as you want. Time was 47 min and I burned 500 calories.

HI -

Gym Style legs today -- not sure what (if anything) else. I will be back later with personals. Hope you are having a good day.

Lori

Wow, it took me awhile to get here this morning. I rushed through a workout and went to pick up my grandson to mow the yard. I cleaned and swept garage and cleaned blinds in windows to be near while he mowed. I had to make him take a break. He is a worker:D So I mowed the outside area(corner edge) I also went up and down through one area with the drainage ditch. It was in another area when he let me know that our mower moves forward if you push the lever

He had to be back by 2 for some get together with a friend. I dropped him off and then went to Target. I went to Target after droopping him off looking for the Lightening Thief movie. Not there. For some reason he thought it was released the 2nd.
Workout this morning was somewhat better than yesterday. I started with Circuit Blast Cardio mix 23 minutes 155 calories Max HR 157. then I did SloMo back and shoulders 44 minutes. 184 cal., I finished with Maximum Intensity Cardio Intervals 23 minutes 172 calories. (this includes the c/d and stretch. I added Brook Benton's Kettlebell Butts and Guts abs 8 minutes 39 calories using 15 and 20# kb's. Totoal time was 1 hour 43 minutes and calorie burn was 550.

Lori, Gym Style legs is a good workout. I am thinking about doing Slo Mo legs 2 sets and the Brook Bento Butts and Guts leg mix tomorrow morning.

Debbie, nice workout. I like BodyMax 2 abs but I hate how long you hold that side plank move. Makes my shoulders hurt.

Cheryl, not feeling so well today either. I have been taking aspirin and pushing to keep going. Maybe I will sleep good tonight:) I hope so. Need some energy tomorrow for what I have planned. Does anyone know what is like to not be exhausted?? I just thought that was how life is LOL Really, I feel like my workouts are not up to where they could be. Was tempted for a rest day this morning which is unusual. But it worked out well. All of this outside work has my allergies going crazy. I bet you were really busy setting up camp and getting those workouts in. I love being busy though. I am not a person to just sit around or I get bored. Don't you love Circuit Blast premix?? I have had the MIC one sitting out for awhile. I think that Interval Mix is a good one:D

Ended up taking a rest day. Dunno. There was just nothing there energy-wise. Guess I’ll pick up again tomorrow.

Lora - That’s tough. Tight muscles (if we’re talking about the same feeling) really ache - burn even. It’s hard to slow down and do a longer yoga, I know. Sometimes the extra time does help me, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s a tough call and you’ve got the chronic pain on top of it. Yikes. Maybe what you really need is a hot tub and personal masseuse to work on you daily (nice idea anyway, huh?). Dragondoor has some joint mobility stuff I’ve been curious about. A slightly different approach than yoga, but I wonder if it would help at all. Hope your Wednesday wasn’t as dead as usual.

Cheryl - The sailing and hiking and swimming and … all that stuff - it sounds great :D Tiring, but a good kind of tired. My sleep problem’s just the same. I whined about it so much and don’t know what else to say about it so I just quit mentioning it. I get the results from the sleep study in a couple weeks. Seems like a long wait, but … what do you do? Btw, I’m a fairly visual person: images of doing a HIIT workout in flip flops  Pretty perilous. Glad you opted out of that one ;)

Debbie - Still a very good burn there :D I don’t have Bodymax 2 (yet ;) ) Cardio Fusion, though - and that was my favorite cardio workout for quite awhile. If I remember, I really liked the music.

Theresa - Well. I crumped out entirely today  I was setting up my weights to get started and just felt like, “Dang. I don’t really LIFT these things - repetitively - for “fun” do I? Not today I don’t. These suckers are heavy :p .” That was it for me - but, they’re ready to go for tomorrow.

Diane Sue - Just reading about your day made me tired (-er than I was already). Hats off to you though, you got a lot done and your workout looked really good even though you didn’t feel up to it. Looks like we’ll both be doing legs tomorrow. Have fun wobblin’ and rockin’ - Slo Mo’s good for that :D

Have a good evening everyone.

Lori

Hi everyone. Just finished Push Pull and it's nearly midnight! eeek. I didn't have much energy, but I really wanted to workout. Yesterday I drove out to see a friend who was briefly in the area and whom I haven't seen for a couple years, then I got home late and had to get up early, so I only ended up with four hours of sleep, although I took a two hour nap when I got home. So anyway, there was no workout Tuesday. Monday, though, I did Circuit Blast, which I think is a pretty fun workout. =)
