Hardcore Fitness Maniacs January 2025

Happy New Year 2025! I am up early and feel amazing except I am tired from my incline walk yesterday, but in a good way. :) Today I did my own upper body workout, I just wanted to go at my own pace and not have an intense workout this morning. Workout was 36 minutes, and I burned 256 calories. I did an upper body circuit and I did each set x 15 reps and did 3 rounds.

STS Meso 2 Warm Up
Chest Press- 20's x 16 reps
1 Arm Rows- 20# x 16
Seated Overhead Shoulder Press- 15's x 16
Standing Traditional Bicep Curls- 15's x 16
Lying Triceps Ext.- 15's x 16
Bicycles for ABS- x 30 reps

I like this format of working out. No dread factor, I can focus on form because I am not trying to keep up with an instructor. I may put something together for January since I am slightly bored of my workouts lately. Also, it takes little time to do this type of workout.

Today is a rest day for me, I have a lot of house cleaning to do! It will be 71 degrees here today too; I cannot wait to lay in the sun and read a good book today.

Roselyn, great job with the Bicep workout.

Belinda, way to go on the belly dance workout and getting your groove on! :)

No workout today. We had our grandson over and I just enjoyed the time and rest. Yesterday morning I did Lift Move Restore Double Cardio bonus, 27 minutes(it had no warm up on the mix) heart rate 137/162 2,072 steps, 147 calories. I finished with LMR functional mobility timesaver #3 combos warm up & mobility combos, 30 minutes, 55 calories, 216 steps. Total time 57 minutes, 202 calories, 2,288 steps.

Diane - I still haven‘t touched Lift Move Restore DVD’s. I will after my surgeries. Great job.

Leg day getting my weight lifting in , going to key west tuesday, I hope, big storm coming in to st Louis tomorrow night, sunday and monday they say.

Today I did CDorner High Energy Power Step non stop with no breakdown and no choreography. 28 minutes, 162 calories, heart rate 138/164, 2,612 steps. I followed with Ice Muscle Meltdown Biceps, 15 minutes, 67 calories, and finished with LMR Upper foam roller, 11 minutes (I skipped the mini workout of jack knife, triceps push ups, and dips with the roller. Total time was 54 minutes, 248 calories.

standing biceps curls 15#/dropped to 12
hammer curl 15#/dropped to 12
preacher curl 10# dbs 12 reps
incline curl 12# dbs 12 reps
concentration curl 12# db 12 reps
repeat 2 more times and I stuck with 12# where dropped from 15

Belinda, nice work on Jessica Smith Met con 3 today. I have not done a planned rotation with LMR. I just do what works for me. Sometimes I am mixing up premixes. It is the moves that are upper body that I have to do workarounds and modifications. I just spent 4 days dealing with neck pain. It is better today, but I could feel the ribs tighten when I picked up heavier weights.
I think Debbie said her husband was going to be off and she did not know how much working out she would get in.

Jolie, enjoy the warmth and sun, we have dropping temperatures here. next week highs will be barely above freezing and nights really low. Maybe some rain which could end up leaving us with ice.

Roselyn, I hope your trip plans go well. We have the same thing in the forecast. I was rather enjoying a mild winter. Happy birthday to your 2 year old grandbaby. My great grandbaby is 9 months now and is such a happy baby always laughing.
 
Today I pulled out an oldie but a goodie and did Cathe's Pure Strength Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. Wow, I miss her old lifting workouts so much, lots of fun! They are slow and controlled, basic weight training exercises and very little chitter chatter. This workout was made in 2006 The outfits, and the hairstyles are hilarious :) I will be doing Back and Biceps next. I will go heavier weights next time, I did not know what to expect. Cathe did 10 reps and 8 reps for exercises, I did 12 reps for them all.

I see that have of the US is going to be fridged temps for the next week or so, Florida will be below freezing! We have 60 degrees here but next week it will get close to 70! We have had NO rain this winter, just some heavy fog. I hope we get some soon.

Good Afternoon,

Still just walking on the treadmill no weights. We are getting a lot of snow today expecting 18” and yesterday we got half an inch of ice, worse weather we have had in a while.
 
Today was back and chest

Jolie I too love cathe's old weight lifting workouts.

we have sleet here all day now changing to snow! Looking forward to Key West my son and his girlfriend are flying down as well, should be a nice getaway,

Grandbaby #2 is due around July 26!!
 
Saturday I did LMR Core Fusion, 31 minutes, 99 calories and LMR functional Pilates Bonus Lower Body foam roller, 18 minutes, 29 calories. This one uses the foam roller for warm up and then a short lower body typical foam roll section then some leg work with the foam roller. Total time was 49 minutes, 128 calories. This helped as my knee hurt in back and tight down through my calf and left elbow hurt when I woke and I had to work to straighten out my arm. I needed movement. Cold temps do not help. It is sure cold. Snow flakes blowing all over yesterday afternoon. It is 1 am and I am headed to bed. Sunday was a rest day.
