Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I did TLT Strength in Movement. I had the same problem as yesterday.....it took me forever to wake up. I went to bed around 10:00 and was up at 2:10 to workout and it took me until 3:00 to even be able to function and then when I did workout, I felt half asleep and didn't have a good workout. I'm still sleepy. I don't think that extra 20 min's can be doing this, but I think I do need to get a bit more sleep this weekend and try to get back to normal. I also forgot how much effort have to put into the TLT's to really get my HR up and I didn't do that - so my calorie burn was very low this morning .

I got my new Seasun SUS case in the mail yesterday and Seasun (the sweetie that she is) put a CD in the case and signed it for me. She's such a sweetie. She also sent me a copy of Rock STeady Step to try for 3 weeks before I pay for it (since I don't know if I'll get the coreography). Tomorrow's my rest day, so maybe I'll try a little bit of this step tape since it probably won't get my HR up much cuz I'll be trying to learn it. If Seasun would start making good weight lifting tapes, I think she would be right up their with Cathe on my list of most favorite instructors. I think Seasun's cueing is as good as Cathe's.

Diana Sue - How often did you do Rock Steady Step trying to learn it? Have you learned SUS all the way thru yet? Do you think RSS is a lot more complicated than SUS?

Have great workouts everyone. I"ll try to check in from work, but I've got piles of stuff to get done today since I had such a bad day yesterday.
 
Good Morning,
Today will be some form of cardio, abs, and an upper body workout. We decided to move the zoo fun to Monday. Only two of the 5 grandchildren will be here today. I am going to take the two girls to the library again. We went Monday and the one who is 9 read all of her books already. And all of the other childrens' choices. She loves reading. She asked for some more of the Kids Left Behind Series for her birthday next month so I ordered her them and some other books.

Lora, no I am still working on SUS. I pretty much know it but still will lose focus and find myself doing the wrong thing. I just feel like RSS is similar. Only you keep adding moves to the first moves then it starts all over with a new series of moves. No I have not learned all of it yet either. I think if I keep at it I will. When I learned Rhythmic Step and Totally Cool Step I had to work on them everyday to get it. I would just add something else to feel like I got a good workout. I am not good with difficult choreography but I know I will get these.

Lora and Diane Sue- you guys are so making me want to try SUS and RSS! I like the more difficult choreography. Makes me feel really good when I master it.

Well due to time, I didn't do my plyo moves. It probably is a good thing though, since my knees have been bothering me a bit lately.
So I did S&H bis and tris, and then the shoulder work from ME.

I went heavy to really get the burn. I think I like working just a couple parts a day. I can really focus on the muscle, and really fatigue them. I really need to purchase some heavier DB now! LOL!!

Maeghan - my back is still touchy. I'm glad it hasn't gotten worse but its not better than it was yesterday. Its looking like I'll be taking a couple more days off from training. :(
 
Good afternoon,
This mornings workout was Straight Up Step since we talked about it this am I thought that sounded like fun, then I did Turbo Jam 3T with my granddaughters. I had to use the heavier tubing as they were using the one I usually use on some of the upper body. I thought I wasnt going to make it through the biceps and shoulders. Then I went on and did Timesaver#3 cardio, biceps and abs, Timesaver#1 chest, and triceps (boy were those pushups tough after the other stuff) Timesaver#2 weighted back and stretch.
We are off to the library.

Meaghan, more weights! Sounds like you are progressing:) Good job.

Debbie, I am sorry you are having to take a break from your workouts.

Good morning maniacs,

Am getting on here late today (my day off from work). My workout today was SJP (the whole thing). So nice to have the luxury of doing an entire workout. Think it is like 73 minutes long but took me forever as I got 2 phone calls during it. I did it with the music louder option and I loved that! Great workout and Cathe is so much fun in this one.

Didn't get to work DH on the Bowflex last night as he was working in our shop on a woodsplitter, but he said he would work out tonite. I have some housework, shopping, bike pickup (had the bottom bracket replaced in it), purchase a wood permit and other tasks for today. May do a bike ride tomorrow morning instead of a workout as I won't be riding again until our bike trip in Bend, Oregon on Tuesday. There are wildfires right around that area now so we're staying in contact to find out if we need to change our plans or not as to a location. Hope it gets better. A lot can change in a few days with fires so we will keep monitoring it. Will know more on Sunday.

DH and I are doing an overnight camping trip starting tomorrow afternoon. He has to work part of tomorrow so we will leave in the afternoon and come home on Sunday. Also have a birthday party for my daughter and granddaughter (they share the same birthday) on Sunday so it will be busy and have to pack for vacation departure on Monday. Whew!

Lora, sorry you aren't getting the sleep you need. Hope you can sleep in this weekend. Know it would be good for you. Strength in Movement is one I haven't done in a while and need to get out again. So nice of Seasun to autograph the DVD. I'm sure you'll get the footwork and will enjoy it.

Diane Sue, how's your foot? Hope it feels better. I get pain/wierd sensations in the ball of my foot, more like close nerves or something. When cycling in the heat, they've been bothering me more. Wish I knew what to do about those. Also on a long step workout, the ball of my left foot almost always gets uncomfortable. When doing lunges, it bothers my left foot when it's behind, same thing, the nerves. Any suggestions for something like that?

Debbie, I'm enjoying your circuit rotation and it's definitely helping my endurance. I love being able to use my circuit DVD's that weren't getting enough attention. Next week I'll be on vacation so won't do any workouts except cycling. Will resume with weeks 3 & 4 when I return. I read you may be coming out with an August rotation? I can't wait to see when I return.

Maeghan, my heaviest DB is a 15#. The jump to 20# is intimidating but guess I don't have to do all the reps, right? I do need to bite the bullet and do it. Also, I help DH and he could definitely use a 20# set to work with too.

Hi Suz! Have you been getting to ride? Bummer about Landis so far. Hope it's not true. Hope the truth comes out.

Hi Ladies!

Wow - I had a doozy of a migraine yesterday! I've had it since Tuesday but it wasn't debilitating until yesterday. I actually went for a ride in the morning with a girlfriend and it felt better when I got home. About 2.5 hours later it came back with a vengeance. I ended up in the neurologist's office b/c I couldn't stand the pain (well, and DH told me to go). My normal prescription wasn't working and they do have another treatment when they won't go away. They gave me a shot for pain (which didn't even touch it) and a steroid. Now I'm on a 5 day steroid pack to hopefully knock it out - and they gave me anti-inflammatory pain pills which I did take last night (it helped!) but none today. It's better today by far. I hope to ride in the morning with a friend if I feel better. I've missed my weight workouts this week b/c I've only been riding and today planned on a weight workout, but that would make my head pound. :( I'm going to start a food journal so I can really see what the triggers are (other than the known caffeine and Oreos) for migraines and even for my stomach. I think my stomach is more sensitive b/c of all the Excedrin I've taken over the years. So this will probably be a good thing as I'll hopefully be eating more fresh foods. Fingers crossed!

Debbie - I'm sorry about your back. It's good you listen to your body. Hopefully you'll be right back at it soon.

Diane Sue - I'm sorry to hear about your foot. How's it doing? I stepped on a really rusty nail about 15 years ago with my heel and would you believe it still hurts to this day if I stand on it for very long? Isn't that nuts?

Netta - so sad about Floyd. I hope it's not true too. I heard that his appearance on the Tonight Show was cancelled. Very sad.

Suz, sorry you are dealing with a migraine. I had one for several days too. My daughter has to go to the doctor once in awhile and get a shot and pain medications. Excedrin is bad for your stomach. Mine does not tolerate much anymore. I did try to keep a food diary once. Loads of peanut butter and Brachs cinnamon hard candies are two things I was eating that cause problems. I had one for almost 3 weeks and felt so weak. Then when I felt good and went to open the cabinet and grab another cinnamon candy I realized that was it. I guess eating them off and on all day is not a good idea:) My foot is still hurting.

I've only noticed my migraines from weather changes and hormonal changes (TTOTM). I don't think I have any food triggers from mine. The ENT specialist did say I will continue to have severe migraines because of my problems within my sinuses. My Zomig went up in price again and now I have to get it preauthorized. I just cannot deal with migraine pain. I hate it!!

I'm supposed to be doing a rest day tomorrow (or recovery workout), but I've had such lousy workouts the last 2 days, I don't know what I'll do in the morning when i get up. Right now, I'm only planning on doing part of Rock STeady Step, stretching, yoga and abs as a recovery day workout.

Sorry I wasn't around today.. Crazy day.

Netta - where are you going on vacation? Have you ever thought about buying a set of Platemates to make the jump from the 15 to 20 pound DB's? That's what I did. I love my Platemates. They really helped me to up my weights.
 
Sounds like a lot of us needs to take a week off from everything! LOL!

Jeanette - I'm glad you are enjoying my rotation. I want to do an August one with a full body theme so I'm working on that. Thats what I'm going to be doing for four weeks or so.

Suz - Hope you are feeling better.

Diane Sue - Hope your foot gets better soon. That just sucks.

That's funny Debbie - it does sound like we're all a mess right now! Not funny ha ha, but you know. :)

I just got Cardio Party 3 (bought it used from Ebay)! I'm so excited! I can't wait to try it. You have all talked it up so much. If I don't ride in the morning, maybe I'll try it. But I'm feeling better than I did earlier, so there's a happy chance I'll ride if I wake up in time. I'm not going to set my alarm but told my friend I'd call her at 6:30am if I'm going at 7 with her. Since I usually wake up when daylight hits, I'll probably be awake.

Suz, I hope you have fun with your cardio party workout. I just like the fun factor of Turbo Jam. For intensity I like Fat Blaster and Cardio Party remix. Otherwise it is Cardio Party one and Two for me. Maybe it is the music changes. I think they are basically the same moves. Maybe it is just me.
